  1. Well done Rose! You are now 1/4 year smoke free We are all proud of the job you've done as you should be too! Hope you celebrate by doing something really special for yourself.
  2. So happy for you Sslip! 6 Months is a really big milestone to reach in your quit. If you have made it this far, you know you're good to go in reaching that Lido Deck And the fact that you are so active here in helping others achieve their goals is something we all appreciate and something you should be very proud of. Hope you celebrate this special occasion in style

  10. Yeah well; we're only 1/2 way there now. Lots can and probably will happen. Stay tuned
  11. Brewers are notorious for running out of gas and fading later on in the season, well, at least not making the playoffs anyway. Regardless of playing staff, these tendencies are sometimes hard to shake. Look at the Cubs (sorry Johnny) and even Boston years ago. They both could not win no matter what the player talent!

  15. -7 Mr. Titwank uses one of those too Wee but .... not on his garden ?
  16. ^^^ This is a big part of it too Doreen. The motions of smoking. They say it takes 3 days to flush nicotine from your body so why is it that they recommend you stick around a support group like this for longer than that? It's the psychological part of it that takes the biggest effort for the longest time to overcome. Breaking mental triggers that might be different season to season, adjusting to better use of your time because you are not puffing away on something. This is the biggest challenge to most smokers I believe

  18. ^^^ Just think ..... 6 months ago if you were digging through that same stuff, you wouldn't even smell the smoke on it because your sense of smell was diminished
  19. Yes they do rake in the tax revenue but in countries who fund or partially fund health care, there is some incentive there to reduce the number of smokers.
  20. I'm not sure the legal age change will do much on it's own. Look at all the stories around this site about when people started smoking and I think you'll find a lot of people were under age when they started. But I do think the combination of all the restrictions you listed above helps to tighten the noose around the neck of this industry of death so yeah ..... bring it on I say! Cost of the product and feeling like a social outcast will do more to curb new smokers that anything else I think.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
