  8. Ask Doreen about Beetroot anything ............. she's an expert ?
  9. I have never made jam or any of the stuff you mentioned but my Mum used to make the best ever strawberry and/or raspberry jam I ever tasted. I'm sure she has a recipe somewhere but you know those old dollies who could cook up a storm would always change something up a little to their recipe so, even if you had the recipe, you would never be able to match the outcome 100%. She was also a whiz at sewing. She would make the coolest Raggedy Ann & Andy stuffed dolls for her grand kiddies They looked very professional once she'd finish with them. It was all self taught too. That's how it was in those days. Learn from someone older then practice, practice, practice! She stopped making those preserves and sewing when she hit about 90 years old. Boy I sure do miss her homemade stuff. Can't buy anything like that in any store or even at the farmer's market. I guess those of us lucky enough to have had mother's who had those talents were truly blessed to have experienced that. Kind of spoils you a little though. Now all the commercially made stuff tastes like crap ?

Look forward yo getting to know you better! Keep posting that Nope every day because, there's no batter way to start you day than pledging not to smoke
  14. Glad to know you are progressing still This is a journey, not a race so take your time and do what ever it is you think you need to do in order to make this your life-long quit. You owe it to yourself!

  16. Good to hear tocevoD! All the things you said are encouraging for a successful quit this time Hope you enjoy your family holiday. You won't have to be sneaking off to "go for a smoke" this time and that will just enhance the experience for both you & you're family! Keep those thoughts you just spoke about top of mind as you move forward. Never forget what can happen when you are not paying attention to your personal commitment
  17. I'm glad you dealt with this the way you did by getting some great feedback from the people here. It just goes to show how committed you are personally to your quit These little wobbles are in fact a good thing at times because they keep us aware that this addiction is still something we need to be ready to deal with. Never let down your guard and never become complacent We're all just 1 puff away from a pack-a-day and we need to keep that thought top of mind always.
  18. Was kind of hoping the underdogs would prevail but ........... NOPE! Here's my observation as a complete soccer dummie ............................... The team that lost today didn't seem nearly as despondent as in other sports I watch where a team loses the big game and just drop their heads in complete and utter defeat, crying and complete despondency are much more evident in the other sports I normally watch. Is this normal in soccer?
  19. Promise; I'll get some counselling to rebuild our relationship! Please don't leave me Who will wank on my tits if you go? (You KNOW you want to - right?)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
