  1. Back at the helm .... great stuff Dave! Nope!
  2. Where I live, every time the government raises the cig taxes, the black market in cigarettes goes into high gear and involves the indigenous communities and their own cigarette manufacturing and distribution business. As has been said, people find a way when they have to. As Doreen said though, perhaps it's enough to discourage younger peeps from starting. That's where I think there's a bigger threat in the vaping area though - young people just staring out. They are trying to make it look like the thing to do. I have heard countless radio adds in the past week or so for some Vape company where they are offering a free vape "starter kit" to people between the ages of 19 & 21 (conditions apply) yeah like you have to commit to buying so many vials of vape juice or something I'm sure. Openly luring young people into vaping though - that's just wrong!!
  3. OK so .... Houston; We have a PROBLEM!! I was in the galley with @catloverdoing a fabulous job cleaning the grills in preparation for the big party when I saw there was something odd stuck in the hull of the ship. It appeared to be a huge disc made out of cork or something. I twisted it around to see what it was and it suddenly popped right out .... well; clearly that was a mistake as we started taking on water big time and I couldn't get the plug back in. We had to abandon ship in a hurry as it was listing to the port side pretty bad. As we rowed away in the lifeboat, there seemed to be a fire just before she tipped right over on it's side and then .... oh my, it's just too traumatic to even tell you about it but I'm in bits over it (actually, so is the ship ) I hope @Tammy, @MLMR and @RhinoDragon got out OK! I saw them pass by us on the galley deck just before the "incident" I managed to get a short video of the final moments as @Doreensfree rowed us away in the lifeboat. Does anyone know where I can get a new ship built in 2 or 3 days I'm gonna make some calls and try to pull in some favors that are owed

  7. It's a wee bit choppy today so think I'll take the crew and clean below deck. Come on @johnny5 grab that bucket and let's go clean the galley! Sure hope it calms down before party day!

  12. Va I can understand because that's tobacco country isn't it? Taxing the smokes is a double edge sword though because the Gov't then gets used to the revenue so punishing the industry down the road becomes more and more difficult.

  14. So sorry that you got bad news about a loved one. Please be careful during this time MLMR because your addiction will know when you are vulnerable and will try and coax you back to being it's slave again and that would change NOTHING!.Just keep noping no matter what your junkie brain might tell you. You've come too far and worked too hard to go back now. Stay strong friend!

  17. 10 Double Digits sticks!!
  18. Nope! Hey you Olde Phartes! You need to be on guard too. You never know what will come out of nowhere and defeat your awesome quit! Not One Puff Ever!
  19. Yup - that's the way it goes for all of us I think. You end up with a mixed bag of thoughts and feelings on any given day and the whole process seems endless but, it won't be that way forever. Things always change and with quitting, the longer the time you invest in the process, the better the changes become. Surely you must notice that when you think back to your first week or so of quitting? I know I am still seeing improvements in my quit after over 1 1/2 years. They aren't pronounced and they are very slow in coming but I have even less desire to ever smoke again than I had after 1 full year. The mental healing process is ongoing for all of us. It won't skip by you Tammy - it can't! All you have to do is continue the path you're on and it will ALL come to you, just as it does for all of us

  21. -3 Hey now!!
  22. OK, this is crazy but Boo never reported back on our planed sailing route so I have sent out another TWO survey parties to check on things along the planned route! @Sslip and @jillar in one boat AND a back-up boat with @Martian5 and @garry mhudson (both very responsible gentlemen). Surely at least one of them will be reporting back soon. Who knows, they may even find @Boo ?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
