  3. I can see you're very focused on this quit. That's a GOOD THING! Slow and steady is how it's done. Remain committed to your quit and always remember; there's no such thing as just one puff.
  4. One day at a time my friend. The progression is much slower than any of us would like to see it but there are magical things happening within you even now. 3 full days without nicotine and your body is free of it. That's a start, getting that crap out of your body. It doesn't mean you won't crave it any longer but it is the first step in truly healing. The rest, the longer part of quitting, is adjusting to not connecting having a smoke or vape to almost everything you do during the day; retraining your brain so it no longer demands that vape after eating, while driving, as a reward for finishing a task ... you get the idea. That's all just repetition, over and over, day after day. It really does get easier as time passes providing you just don't smoke/vape. You don't see that now but you will if you hang in there long enough- that I can promise you!

  6. Fabulous achievement @Dejvis93! I love how you are focused on exercising and your morning runs. Exercise is a great way to take your mind off vaping. I also understand your difficulty in focusing at work. That;s what we call "brain fog" and it's very common amoung new quitters. It will not last for too long but yes, it make getting things done tough at times. Another thing you said: "24 hours will be a reason to selebrate and then, another day! but today, I focus on now and today." That's exactly what you need to do, focus on one day at a time; sometimes even one hour at a time just to make it through a particularly tough craving. Looking too far down the road can be overwhelming so just take things a bit at a time like you're doing. If you fond yourself at a loss for something to take your mind off things, there's a 'Games" page here on the site. Check it out sometime if you're looking for something to do. Again; big congrats on Successfully Completing Day #1!!

  8. Support from people quitting around the same time can be a powerful quit tool. Even though all of us quitters have been through the same struggles when quitting, it's sometimes easier to relate to that other person who is involved in the same fight as we are and at the same time. Best wishes to both of you and always remember, it IS possible if you want it badly enough!

  10. Welcome @Dejvis93! Quitting is possible for all of us and that applies to you as well. You just have to stick to your commitment to take another puff on the vape or a cig. It's quite simple actually but it's not easy! Nicotine addiction will play havoc with your mind in the early days of withdrawal. Some days, you just gotta grit your teeth and deny even the most difficult cravings. Even the most difficult quit never killed anyone where as smoking ...... well, that's a different story. Just make wise choices and never listen to the little nagging voice in your head that tries to convince you to have "just a few puffs". You can do it my friend!
  11. Here's another chart, just to show you the spread on a pack of 20 Marlboro cigs around the world: Incredible, the difference in cost for the same pack of smokes Here's the link to costs around the world: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_price_rankings?itemId=17
  12. Every day you're smoke free is a victory worth celebrating! Don't ever sell yourself short just because you only have a few days. 5 days or 5 years; they're both hard fought victories!! You have every right to be proud Dane!

  14. Oh man! That all just sucks huge Sorry all this bad stuff is piling up on you Stew. Remember how hard you had to fight when first quitting? You just gotta do that again now until the clouds clear and the sun begins to shine once again. You can do it buddy; won't be fun but it's alla part of life. Best wishes. Hope you get some good meds into you to help things along.

  18. Huge congrats Jillar on 8 years smoke free and for all the support you have given freely to others over those 8 years in order to help them also succeed in quitting (myself included). You have truly incorporated giving valuable guidance to others into your own quit journey
  19. Hope you all enjoy the holiday and take time to remember your fallen heros

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
