  6. Hi Solo! You have a really nice quit going there - congrats! Be proud of yourself for getting that far because it is a HUGE accomplishment and you have climbed over the worst of it now! At the top of both this Introductions & About Us page and the Quit Smoking Discussions page you will see "Pinned Threads" (green circle with a pin beside each one). Those are threads that may be of interest to you and helpful as well. Yes. you still have challenges to face but take on those triggers as they come and you'll find you can beat them. Once you do, you'll find they are not so much of a trigger next time around. That's how we beat this thing. Education about nicotine addiction which gives us the knowledge to outsmart it and time. Time we put between our form smoker selves and our now non smoker selves will make a huge difference in how you look at things. You will learn to live happily again in day to day life as a non smoker. Trust us on that .... it's true for everyone If it's support your are looking for, you'll get that here - lots of it! And, that can make a huge difference as well. Support from those who have gone through the same thing you are. We're all quitters here

  15. It sounds like Canada. Visitors don't understand that it takes 8 days of driving 10 hours a day in a car to cross the country from east to west (7,098 km).

  20. Welcome back DizzyD - you were missed! I can't tell you how deeply saddened we all were to hear of the tragedy in Christchurch. That was horrible and to have gone through what you did was something none of us would have wanted to go through. You have both learned a lesson about your addiction though by going through what you have - smoking makes NOTHING better, only make things worse. Carry that lesson forward and let us support you through your new, permanent quit. I understand why you feel bad about falling off the train but don't dwell on that. Just see it as a learning experience. What counts is that you keep at it until you find your freedom. We're still here to support you. Let us give you a hand to board the train again

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
