  2. Nice to be able to really taste food again Yes, your ticker should be updating but clearly is not. If you sign in anonymously then your ticker won't update. Maybe sign out then sign back in and make sure you don't check the "sign in anonymously" box.
  3. Hand me the Robertson head screwdriver please, green handle!
  4. Yes they will stop for sure. I too had that same kind of feeling but it was in the early days of my quit when the cravings seemed to go on 24/7 with no start and no end between them. I can't tell you when all that abated but it did - that's the important thing. It sounds as though you are active and in a purposeful way so that's a good thing. Distraction by what ever way is a good way to over ride the constant cravings. Beep breathing as well to lower the anxiety those cravings cause. I know you're looking forward to day 100 etc. but just focus on today. Then tomorrow. We pledge our NOPE (Not One Puff Ever) daily - just for that day. Then, we do the same thing tomorrow. And so it goes. Easier in small bites sometimes
  5. I'll give you a hand up but not a hand out

  7. Welcome to Quit Train Roark We are a small but dedicated family of quitters here who love to support others, no matter what their motivation or method of quitting. You certainly have a great motivator to keep that quit going. Our health is of utmost importance and quitting is the best thing you can do to improve your future health. Congrats on your first month. That is normally the hardest period of your quit. What specifically is bothering you at this point> Let us know and someone will no doubt have had experience with the same quit symptom and can possibly help you. Also, read as much as you can on the site here. Education about nicotine addiction is the key to unlocking your smoke free future! Have a look through the library of Joel videos too. They touch on almost every issue you might face. Use all the tools you can to keep that quit.
  8. Just fired off a complaint to The Weather Network for displaying this ad on their website. I'm getting tired of seeing this company and others getting away with advertising on websites that anyone can access (Yes; even 10 year old kids and probably younger!!)

  12. I can buy cheap smokes here from the Indian Reservation if I want to kill myself faster than smoking the regular coffin nails. Only the Chief knows what's in 'em, other than nicotine. There's no regulatory body looking into how those puppies are made The really sad part is that the more expensive cigarettes get in the regulated world, the more people head to the Reservation for their supply. As smokers, we don't really want to know the truth about the choices we make. It's only after we quit that we start to lament some of those choices.

  14. Glad you're still quit Lilly The weekends are pretty quiet around here and people are often either not around or not checking in that often. I don't think the lack of response is a reflection of anything other than that. Anyway, glad you checked back in with us. Glad to hear your life has taken a turn for the positive and yes, for sure if you new man is looking to quit you know he will get nothing but the best support here. Tell him to come on down

  16. When you select this British pounds symbol for your ticker, it adds a bunch of unnecessary symbols in front of the money amount in the ticker. Can that be fixed? Euro and dollar symbols work fine.

  18. There's an issue using the pounds money symbol. It adds those wacky symbols in front of the money amount for some reason. For now, you could just redo the ticker in your signature (delete the one you have now and redo it) and use the $ or the Euro symbol instead. Those two work and you'll know it's pounds you are saving. I see Doreen's ticker shows $ and she's in England.

  20. Quitting smoking should lower your blood pressure some. Have yourself checked once you've been off the smokes for a while. For some reason, I used small mint candies, little peppermint things that looked about the size of a headache tablet. Filled with sugar they were but they kept my mouth busy. I quit using those a few months in and haven't had one since. It was weird because I never really liked peppermint candies before.

  22. That's the other issue with this game .... often end up on the wrong page which throws an even bigger wrench into things. I think I'll make like Andy and buzz off

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
