  1. Just glad you're still with us, fighting the good fight
  2. If you need more "mask volume" for the snacks, try this one
  3. Haven't heard of that one. Is it a movie or a series? What's it about?
  4. 9
  5. I'm blind! I can't see!!! Oh ...... wait a minute?

  11. Yeah! You new quitters just need to bite the bullet for awhile and get through the tough days. It's not pretty but it is doable! Remember .... you're fighting for your life, literally and figuratively!!

  14. Sorry to hear Linda. It does really suck to relapse but mostly for you because now you gotta start all over again What was it specifically that cause you to choose smoking again instead of putting your head down and moving forward with your quit? You really need to give some thought to that because what ever the emotions or circumstances, it will likely happen again so you're gonna need a plan to fight it next time. A lot of this quitting battle (in fact most of it) is mental conditioning. Get yourself into a positive frame of mind. Sorrow and regret for a lost quit will do nothing good for you. Double down and go again! You're no different than us. YOU can do it!!
  15. It could be a seagull who got into a little too much toxic waste!
  16. Nice work! It hasn't been easy but will be worth it in the end. Keep moving forward after rewarding yourself to mark the occasion
  17. It's rare to see cash here anymore. My brother-in-law would be the exception. He carries around a few grand in cash all the time, just in case something comes up and he needs it. I'm surprised his pants don't fall down He's the kind of person who trusts no one including banks and especially technology - lol. I'm betting his entire net worth is under his mattress at home
  18. And staying in the era of big hair and go-go dancers .................................
  19. Careful how the options are presented on the ballot.
  20. The best way to quit is the way that works for YOU! Using NRT is just a different approach to quitting. Not right or wrong, just different. The most important thing is that you focus all your energy on nurturing that young quit.
  21. No penny in Canuckland either. Circulation of the penny for cash tender in retail outlets ceased Feb. 4th 2013. It is still considered to be legal tender, although only within banking institutions, not retail outlets. Reason for taking them out of circulation was that in 2013 it cost $0.016 to produce each penny that was worth only $0.01. Kind of made sense if you look at that aspect. Can't remember the last time I used cash, or a check to pay for anything anyway. Maybe 4 or 5 years now? Cards or e-transfer is the only way to fly in this day and age and it fits the Covid issue perfectly as well. We just tap the card on the checkout card reader screen for any retail transactions below $1,000.00. No key pad touchie-feelie action required. Above $1,000.00; you gotta use the keypad for security codes but those are few and far between. Repetitive household bills are all on direct withdrawal and if I should owe you money for something it's E-Transfer from my bank to yours which can be done securely on any electronic device and the transaction is completed by next banking day.
  22. Sorry .... not a fan. I just don't find that black elicits any positive emotion and isn't that one of the things new quitters need - positive energy?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
