  3. OMG! That's so upsetting Brioski 😞 My sincere condolences to you his family and all that knew him. So sad. I can't imagine having to deal with that as a parent. Something like that would certainly bring a sudden & strong craving to smoke as we used smoking to calm & sooth us for all the years we smoked. Proud of you for not acting on the urge. Please be kind to yourself for the next while.

  8. I think it was about 6-7 months before I was so done with smoking that I actually began to feel sorry for people who were chained to their cigarettes. That's when I knew I was done forever with smoking! It has only grown from there to the point now where I'm one of those who are considered by smokers as an annoying X-smoker and I actually consider that a compliment; not an insult In terms of the feeling of wanting to have a smoke; the timing of when that urge dies varies from person to person and is often governed by events going on in any person's life. It's a much slower process than any of us thought it should be. As @jillar mentioned, we all need to stay close to a great support group during our first year because seasonal triggers often affect new quitters differently and we can be blindsided by them unexpectedly. That's not to say your whole 1st year will be a struggle. Far from it but, there may be times you will need to come pour your heart out to those who really understand what you're going through so; hang in there and rely on the commitment you made to yourself when you quit & us ... your support group. It's been proven a winning formula many times over
