  1. Careful how the options are presented on the ballot.
  2. The best way to quit is the way that works for YOU! Using NRT is just a different approach to quitting. Not right or wrong, just different. The most important thing is that you focus all your energy on nurturing that young quit.
  3. No penny in Canuckland either. Circulation of the penny for cash tender in retail outlets ceased Feb. 4th 2013. It is still considered to be legal tender, although only within banking institutions, not retail outlets. Reason for taking them out of circulation was that in 2013 it cost $0.016 to produce each penny that was worth only $0.01. Kind of made sense if you look at that aspect. Can't remember the last time I used cash, or a check to pay for anything anyway. Maybe 4 or 5 years now? Cards or e-transfer is the only way to fly in this day and age and it fits the Covid issue perfectly as well. We just tap the card on the checkout card reader screen for any retail transactions below $1,000.00. No key pad touchie-feelie action required. Above $1,000.00; you gotta use the keypad for security codes but those are few and far between. Repetitive household bills are all on direct withdrawal and if I should owe you money for something it's E-Transfer from my bank to yours which can be done securely on any electronic device and the transaction is completed by next banking day.
  4. Sorry .... not a fan. I just don't find that black elicits any positive emotion and isn't that one of the things new quitters need - positive energy?
  5. Huge congrats on reaching 7 years D!! What an accomplishment and on top of that, the hundreds of others you've helped and encouraged along the way is most honourable! Hope you find a way to treat yourself with something special today.

  11. Going to the dentist today. Have to wear a mask until the Dr. starts probing with the instruments of pain. You have to telephone them from outside before you can even get in and once you do it's hand sanitizer, temp. check. Then they hand you a sanitized tablet with 4 pages of question to fill out and sign before you go into the dentist's torture chamber You're almost longer doing all the prelim stuff than you are getting your face drilled
  12. 7 Not starting off great for you again today D
  13. Got it fixed and back together. I checked it and it's not leaking from the fill valve anymore Any other issues ...... not my fault
  14. NOPE! That smoking is pleasurable is an addict's illusion!
  15. Fixing one of the toilets that is just leaking a little bit of water from the fill valve after each flush. If I were a betting man ............ I'd bet comments on this will be going to the curse thread in pretty short order Stay tuned!
  16. OK 20!
  17. Great job today Steven! You have a lot of people supporting you here. Don't hesitate to rely on them to help you along through the tough times. We've all been there so we DO get it.

  19. This is part of the quit process we ALL go through Linda. We've conditioned our minds to go directly to having a smoke when anything out of the normal happens to us, whether that be stress, illness and yes, even happy events. Your job now is to find ways to break that thought process. It WILL happen the longer you go not smoking and refusing to listen to those junkie thoughts we ALL had early in our quits. You're doing great in these trying times. Keep pushing forward doing exactly what you're doing. Lots of wise people here to help you along

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
