  4. I think I expected the healing to happen a lot more quickly and that I would notice things changing every day. I just underestimated how subtle and slow the change process is. Reflecting on it later, it all made sense because I had repeated these connections between my actions and smoking every single day for decades so it's only logical it takes time to re-establish new connections with your daily routine once you quit. I'm just glad the nonsmoker changes didn't take decades Keep moving forward Linda because you're making progress whether you realize it every day or not.

  14. Every statement you've made here shows a maturity in attitude toward your quit, which will serve you well in the long run! Carry on AceWhite.

  19. It's human nature to deny, deny, deny. We're special somehow and it won't happen to us, only other people. Well, clearly that's not the case yet that invincible thought process seems to stay with us. It is crazy! Sorry to hear your friend is in the situation he's in but I'm sure he's pleased you got the message and are doing something to try and limit you own ongoing exposure.
  20. You want the boat ready when?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
