  3. Having clear X-Rays is encouraging. Let us know what happens with your request for a CT scan.
  4. Quitting smoking is the number one best thing a person with COPD can do for themselves in terms of improved future health. I'm a little surprised that the Dr. who did the breathing tests did not also schedule you for at least a chest X-ray or preferably a CT scan which gives more detail on the condition of your lungs than an X-Ray might. It's my understanding that COPD is usually linked to other lung issues such as chronic bronchitis, asthma or emphysema which is why I'm a little surprised your Dr. didn't investigate those issues further. Are you on and sort of medication for your COPD?

  6. How was your case of COPD diagnosed? Personally, I have never heard of a case of misdiagnosed COPD. More details required here.
  7. Yes! Absolutely best for determining what's going on with your lungs. If there's an issue, the sooner you know that the sooner you can get proper help in dealing with things. Please let us know how things go ... we do care!

Hey! I'm not Roman so can't deal with the funny symbols but I'll just go with .............. 6?
  9. Go see your Dr. and insist on a CT scan of your lungs. That will reveal if you have any lung issues. If you do have lung issues you'll likely be referred to a Pulmonologist (Lung Dr.). I don't see this as simple lung cleansing after 4 years but then again ... I'm not a Dr. so go get your lungs checked visa/vie a CT Scan and do it sooner rather than later.
  10. That's a tough one @Kdad! All I can say is when you think your world is falling apart, work on things that you and you alone can control ... like quitting smoking! You have obviously realized smoking again was not the answer you were seeking so get rid of it. Hang in here and let other quitters help support you in your effort to quit once again! Cigarettes offer nothing positive for you going forward!

  16. It's not unusual that someone who's relatively newly quit would still have a love/hate relationship with smokes. It takes time to process everything you're experiencing while quitting. The trick is, now that you're quit, that you continue to process all the realities of just what your relationship with smoking was when you smoked. As smokers we were always in denial about the truth of what smoking was really doing to us and for us. Once quit, that's our opportunity to begin vilifying smoking in the cold light of day!

  19. Glad to hear you avoided caving to the crave. Unexpected upsets are always a very dangerous thing when they occur early in our quit process because our mind automatically goes to "Gotta have a smoke!!" Of course we all know that having that smoke under those circumstances only destroys your quit and does nothing to help what ever it is that's going off the rails in real life. Smoking is never the answer. The good news is that once you've been through something like this and managed to get through without smoking, you'll not be in such a panic next time something happens. Getting through situations like this truly make your quit stronger - Good Job Stew!
  20. Yes! Happy Father's Day @Cbdave ! Sounds like you're having a great time!!
