  3. It's human nature to deny, deny, deny. We're special somehow and it won't happen to us, only other people. Well, clearly that's not the case yet that invincible thought process seems to stay with us. It is crazy! Sorry to hear your friend is in the situation he's in but I'm sure he's pleased you got the message and are doing something to try and limit you own ongoing exposure.
  4. You want the boat ready when?

  8. I can tell you that with my own quit, the last really big (quit threatening) day I had was at about my 6 week quit point. After that time, things just seemed to be much more manageable to me. Having said that Linda, we are all different and milestones we reach in our quits happen at different times. I just wanted to relate my story to you in hopes it would bring a ray of sunshine into your life. The early days and yes, even weeks, of quitting are tough. You need a few rays of light along the way. As Mee said, things do get easier along the way. The thing that always bothers me is that I could not notice that happening at the time. I could only see it looking back at my own quit. Stay the course Linda and you too will get there. Battles becoming fewer and less intense along the way

  13. Sorry to hear you caved to the crave. Hopefully working with your therapist will help you to sort your priorities and allow you to get back on track with your quit. There's a legion of people here to support you when you do try again. I think you probably already know that though.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
