  7. It IS amazing what a nicotine addict will sacrifice to ensure they always have some smokes! I remember saying to myself I'd quit once a pack hit $5.00 Obviously that didn't happen. Went way past $10/pack before I started thinking about it.

  9. Think that's pretty typical Dianne. We tend to think of an addict as someone huddled in the corner of an alleyway with a needle stuck in their arm, not someone like us just going about their daily routine. Realizing your own addiction to this insidious drug nicotine is an important step in fighting for your freedom. Well done Dianne
  10. It's you and only you that can make the commitment to quit and follow through on that commitment. You know you CAN do it because you've done it before. As BKP said, set a small target to begin with then revaluate once you reach that target. That may help with the anxiety I'm sensing you have about quitting again.

  12. Watching the news and seeing the the Feds are raising taxes on a carton of smokes by $4.00 as part of their new budget First decent things these clowns have done since taking office. I don't know how much a pack of smokes costs here now as I quit over 4 years ago. When I quit, the cheapest I could get them (legally) was $12.50/pack, They gotta be around $16.00 or maybe $18.00 a pack by now I would guess. Still not as expensive as in Australia but we're getting there

  19. I was just posting about this in the Curse thread @Abby. It's bad lately in the southern Ont area and many other areas across Canada. You're right. More vaccines in arms asap is what's needed. We all thought we'd be in a lot better position now even new years day 2021. Been a disappointing start but hopefully a happier ending to 2021?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
