  3. Quitting wasn't what I thought it would be when I quit either. I was always frustrated that I could not see any difference from one day or even one week to the next. The process is slow .... very slow but that doesn't mean it's not happening - it is! You really just need to continue to be patient and do what you've been doing. As Jillar said, when you feel really down go treat yourself. Do something, anything, that will bring you pleasure. Something outside of your normal daily routine. You're saving a ton of $$ by not smoking. Spend some of that on pampering yourself. We all deserve pampering while we're going through the ugly parts of our quit process. Sometimes you just need to step back, take a deep breath and focus on any positives you have seen since you stopped smoking.

  14. Major traumatic experiences have derailed many a quit. Get over this by doing just what you said you were doing, rationalizing the benefits or lack there of should you light up is all you can do. That should work for you. Reacting irrationally is NOT what you want to do because that'll just lead to regret and a ruined quit. Getting past this means you're pretty much golden in terms of the strength of the foundation of your quit. It's a major hurdle! Treat it as such.

  18. The sore arm thing is a function of the person injecting you, not the vaccine. Many people, particularly in these circumstances, get a 10 minute crash course in giving injections and the result is a lot of sore arms. If you are lucky enough to be injected by someone who knows the muscular structure of the upper arm then chances are you'll not notice much soreness in the following hours or day.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
