  1. Oh, Pumpkin I feel your pain. I have gained and gained and gained. I went on a diet and gained 3 lbs. I have one pair of jeans I can still squeeze into and all of my shirts are tight. T-shirts are not possible now - too much muffin top! Gaining weight is a REAL PROBLEM, and we do ourselves a disservice when we don't take it seriously. So... I have a limit to my will power and it's being spent on not smoking. I have no ideas for you; just know that you are not alone.
  2. What ever keeps you on the Quit Train is a GOOD thing
  3. You should be proud! I am very grateful that you give so much time and energy to this forum. You have absolutely helped my quit
  4. Nope. Nope. Nope.
  5. I don't know how much time and effort went in to making sure I always had a supplies. I might forget my lunch. I might forget my badge for work. I might forget pants - but I never, not once, "forgot" smokes. My priorities were very clear. Outta that bog.
  6. Puffy eyes. I used to have puffy bags under my eyes that made me look like I hadn't slept in years. They are mostly gone now and I expect to get better.
  7. NOPE. Not today. I can do this today.
  8. No kidding! Closet smoking takes up so much time. Sneaking out when no one else will notice. Buying fabric freshener to disguise the smell, always chewing gum and YES, washing, washing, washing your hands. It's a huge drain on your time and energy. Quitting just keeps getting better
  9. Monday again after a rushed but productive weekend. Monday again after getting to sleep in until 7 for two mornings in a row. Monday again and tied to a desk after a weekend in the yard. Monday again and at least I can breathe.
  10. The little difference can be astonishing and motivating. Keep the quit; you are doing really well
  11. Sleep is the best. Glad you are getting more!
  12. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.
  13. The longest journey begins with the first step. Keep hiking, we are all here for you.
  14. Might be allergies. Might be anything but I just haven't fell well for two days. Draggin' my wagon. But still here
  15. I am hoping that I will get some increased lung capacity before bicycle season gets started this year. Last year, I could hardly keep up and it was embarrasing. Grateful for every breath.
  16. NOPE!!! This picture has nothing to do with NOPE, but it's too cute not to share
  17. My brain must have fallen out over night. I am having a morning I don't even understand. I put my shoes on before my pants and couldn't get my pants on. Hopped around for a few minutes before I figured out the problem. Took my shoes off; and put my pants on and then put on ANOTHER pair of socks. Socks, people. I have been outsmarted by socks.
  18. Oh my stars! I never think it's that much until you see it all together. Good job!
  19. What an awful experience! Thanks for checking in and letting us know you're still here. I did not react well to Zyban, either. Vertigo to the point I wasn't safe to drive. Or walk, really. There is no magic bullet to quitting.
  20. I got sent down to one of our sister facilities at the last minute. I do inventory management and they were having "issues". Got it straightened out, but WOW. Thank goodness rental cars and hotels no longer allow smoking. In fact, they will charge you $200 if you smoke. Back in the saddle
  21. Good job staying strong! I have the same issue, as smoking was the only break I ever took at work. I still haven't figured out how to get myself to stand up and just walk around for a few minutes without going out to the smokers' area.
  22. Oh, Nancy. Sympathies to you and your family. Such a sad reminder of the power of addiction.
  23. Travelling today for business. Just a quick shout out to all my buds on the train.
  24. Hooray!!!! Still waiting for that moment. Thanks for the inspiration

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
