I am a chain smoker, and have been trying to quit smoking for some time now. I am going in for a dental implant surgery soon. My doctor asked me if I smoke, and when I said yes, he asked me to stop smoking first, and then go for the surgery. He told me that smoking can have a bad effect on our teeth as well, and it can lead to dental implant failure. My teeth are in a real bad condition and so the surgery has to be done, but I am not able to quit smoking as well. I don’t know what to do to stop myself from smoking. I am looking for some quick ways to stop smoking, and also, I want to know more about this. I have a feeling that my wife has asked the doctor to ask me to quit smoking. So, I want to know the real truth about this. Does smoking lead to dental implant failure?
