  1. Hi! I just wanted to let you know that the party was a success. I asked smokers to smoke outside and I was able to ignore the fact that I wasn´t smoking. I actually enjoyed the party. Thanks to all of you guys that helped me change my mindset. -Natalie

  5. I´m so sorry to hear that Chrispy and I hope things get better. Yes, it sucks that we can´t erase our smoking history but at least we decided to stop it.
  6. Hi Ridley! Welcome! The same thing happened to me and after a succesful quit I got back to smoking. Now I quit again and my main advice is: - Stay on the board! Read, post, watch videos and make your daily NOPE pledge (more on that on the next point) -Take it one day at a time. Make a daily pledge to never take another puff. - Educate yourself to understand your addiction. Watching Joel Spitzer´s videos and reading Allen Carr´s book is a great way to start. - Never think you can have just one puff, or one cigarette. You´re an addict and one is just the beginning of getting hooked all over again. Natalie
  7. Congratulations dear Nancy! You´re an inspiration and such a great support for all of us. Treat yourself, you deserve it. -Nat
  8. Hi! A week from now I will have a small gathering of friends where I know there will be at least 3 or 4 smokers. Any advice on how to watch others smoke without having huge cravings? I can think calmly now that I don´t want to be a smoker but I don´t know if I´ll be able to think straight while watching people smoke. Advice? Tips? Thanks! -Nat
  9. Very shocking.
  10. That´s super true. Stop thinking about it and just do it. It´s doable and the support here is amazing. .
  11. We´re here for you. You can post a message whenever you feel like you´re going to lose focus.
  12. Hi Paula! Welcome! Coming here and asking for support was a great first step. I think you need to set a quit date and stick to it, throwing away all your cigarettes, lighters, etc. and making the commitment to not take another puff. The problem is that while one cigarette seems harmless it strenghtens the addiction to nicotine. I highly recommend you to watch Joel´s videos, they help understand addiction. Good luck! -Nat
  13. Congratulations!! :yahoo:
  14. Hi! Thanks again for your answers, each one of them helped me keep focused and don´t lose control. I´m having some tough days...I know the first week is supposed to be the worst, and of course it was hard, especially physically, but this week the cravings have been worse... -Nat
  15. Deal! I´m listening to Joel´s videos to remember why this is worth it and that this too shall pass. Thanks to all of you for answering. -Nat

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
