Loved that Boo and sounds exactly like something Joel would say. And as a person that is well aware of my addictive personality it is all so true.

Help is here for the smoking issues as for the other you need experienced professional people. But nobody has ever died from quitting so that should be reassuring to you. It will get better -
Happy Smokeless 5 :-)

Side effects of early nicotine withdrawal
Dee replied to Lyn4Life's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Yes when I quit and got a cough and cold two months later I was like WHAT was thinking hey I don't smoke I shouldn't be coughing.... My sisters just laughed they don't smoke. They said what you thought you wouldn't ever get sick again! -
NOPE not on Fridays

Remember smoking isn't the magic fix for stress stress will always be around. Try and find a new method to deal with the stress you can do. Breath

I know it is a struggle but if you want this really do you can! Not a fan of the word relapse makes me think of a medical condition. There is great advise here.

Love the stair case. And I agree everyone thinks the grass is always greener.... We all claw, scream, yell, climb and fight our way free of nicotine addiction.

Hello Nellie Welcome. First you have to say I want to quit, to add I will try sets you up from the get go. Almost like I am going to try not to eat the brownie when I am on a diet LOL. Nothing wrong with getting a doctor visit in I am sure he or she will just reinforce all the reason and benefits quitting will bring. Post and read while here it helps allot. Tell yourself YOU CAN DO THIS!

interesting don't quite know if I believe it or not. I do know there are some people who pick up smoking yet never really get addicted it to so they just pick them up or put them down at will but I don't think that is what this is saying.

Yes today is as good a day as any to begin living a healthier life. I think the problem is to many people feel all the bad serious sh&* won't happen to them. I'll quit when the doctor tells me, I will quit when I can't breath. The problem is by the time the diagnosis comes it's kinda to late so don't wait now is a great time to not smoke.

Oh my was reading this again and brought to mind my Friday night encounter. I was with all the girls hanging out having a great time. Only 1 out of the 9 girls there including myself don't smoke. But the one that was made my little demon wake up and look around. I had a moment of insanity when I was actually considering asking her for a cigarette then my warped brain was thinking well you can take one when no one is looking! Like how bad is that! That's when the light bulb went on and I was like HOLY Crap what are you thinking. Glad I snapped out of it and remained a non-smoker. It is scary how the brain thinks truly an addict moment.....

Hello again Hford I see you found the introduction section. Stick around nothing but great people here. :)

Hello hford welcome to quit train glad you came aboard. Have you introduced yourself to all. These are some great people here. All phases of quits and some good advise. If you are feeling restless visit the video section and start educating yourself on the addiction of nicotine. The toughest part is in the beginning are you going cold turkey? If so there are many here that also have gone that route.

NOPE

The physical withdrawal is done by day 3-4 HOWEVER the physiological withdrawal lasts longer there is no set time for you to say I have retrained my brain but I assure you it does happen as each day goes by then a week a month. Yes you will still have thoughts and urges but they are nothing like they were in the beginning. Your are doing great. Distraction is the best remedy what I did in the earlier days was I would say ok not now but if you really want later you can smoke first off I made sure there were never any around. But by saying to myself ok you can if that is what you want, but just wait to later or after work or tomorrow and you will be surprised you get busy distracted and later doesn't happen that was my trick. I still do that if an urge is really strong. I tell myself you are free to do what you want but not right now.

Oh no Kenzie hang in there. Have you gotten a chance to watch any videos these will help distract you.... Make a list of all the reason you need to be a non-smoker. Can you take a walk, exercise say a prayer, I know it is hard but if you really want this for yourself you need to talk yourself through the urge. Three day is HUGE three days means your body is free of nicotine. That in itself gave me strength knowing that it was actually gone from my body. Think on that you succeeded making it through the WORST of it.
