    New Media

Absolutely loving my new art class having so much fun trying out new media's to work with. Its kinda of cool to be so excited by a hobby that you want rush home to work on it. Friday all I kept thinking about was what crappy weather I would much rather be home with my art. But I must say dinner with my girlfriend turned out to be very nice. Feeling very grateful for life and friends and family. Trying to remind myself to appreciate all the many wonderful aspects of my life....... Spent a great weekend and even having drinks with my friends I had no desire to smoke we are definitely getting used to be a non-smoker.
  3. How great what a good thing to celebrate...................................

  16. NOPE
  17. I haven't heard of that either. I sometimes talk myself through the moment when I feel the craving. It is not so much a craving anymore as it is a thought. Thank God that at this point it is just a thought some days not at all. But then I breath deeply. I am pretty faithful about hitting the gym during the week and weekends. So it helps me to say "I want to be able to work out and keep up" My son and sister want to do a mud run in June and this year I am going to be there with them. So I guess the best distraction is thinking of those things you enjoy doing and say I can't do that as a smoker. This site has helped allot as a distraction during the day to occupy those old smoke breaks. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!
  18. NOPE not on hump day
  19. Great post it is so true as we muddle through the day with all this extra time.... I think sometimes we smoked just for something to do. I still see a sunny day as one of those moments where I used to enjoy sitting out in the sunshine smoking. I know as the weather FINALLY starts to warm up I will feel nostalgic about those moments. Even though my brain knows that is not a reward or something enjoyable to be smoking I will need to sort out the what now moments. Such a good reminder the struggle is there, not all the time, not every minute but still there lingering.
  20. Happy for your upcoming trip. And congratulations on your years as a non-smoker. Yes traveling as a Smoker really sucked. I remember traveling to hike in Utah with a change over and a 2 hour drive it was like oh my God when will I get a cigarette break.
  21. Give yourself a break.... being a healthier person is way more important. For me Lent has help gave up every treat and dessert so there has been NO SNACKING making me a little cranky though.
  22. Why this quit is so important.... many reasons I want to be able to stay active even more active than I was while smoking. I don't want the next cancer diagnosis to be mine. I recall seeing how sad my mom was when she was diagnosis she was so mad at herself for not quitting sooner. I was one of the last smokers in my family and circle of friends and I kept thinking I don't want to be the last man standing it sounds silly but it was important to not be the truly last smoker in the group. I want to be strong and healthy I have many more mountains to climb literally and do not want to huff and puff.
  23. NOPE NOPE NOPE
  24. Is it Mother's day in a different country? For the U.S. Mothers Day is in May. But I noticed my Ex in-laws with family in Ireland were wishing people happy Mothers Day. Happy Mothers Day to you.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
