  1. 30 WOW how exciting... I remember being excited at 40 not sure how I will feel at 50.... I would say half way there but not thinking of living until 100. Although my Granny is still going at 98.... So who knows.
  2. Yeah I swear addiction runs in the family. I always remind my son. We have gamblers/drug addicts and Alcoholics on both sides growing up he got tired of me reminding him. It is so important this way the next generation has a fighting chance. I think sometimes being aware of the behavior keeps us on our toes. My current partner's mother is a founding member of Gam-a-non. Not sure which addictions are the worst.......Guess none is the correct answer. Just gotta stay diligent.

    Thinking

The weather is finally getting nice it so strange trying to stay in the mind set of being a non-smoker. The warm weather makes the urge greater. Sat I spent the day exhausting myself with the thought that physical exhaustion would help. But it is strange the smokes I still miss the most are the ones when I have physically exhausted myself with exercise./activities/ cleaning or errands. I wonder how long before my brain will be re-trained for those moments. I haven't written much in these blogs. Never really got the whole Blog. I was a big journal keeper always was. But that is so much more private. It doesn't lay out there for others to see. Journaling helped me travel to where I am today. Journaled through the end of my terrible marriage journaled through my days in Al-non journaled through most all life struggles. Those memories are recorded and kept in a safe place. They all reside in a box a box of memories and tribulations. My sister also is a journaler we have an arrangement is something suddenly happens to either one of us the other knows where the box of journals are. And we are each charged with removing the box so nobody will ever peep into the most private parts of our life. So anyway Blogging seems similar to Journaling but one is for no one else to ever see the other seems like thoughts you wish to share with whom who knows maybe just yourself maybe with others. Spring is making me feel nostalgic and actually sad yesterday it made me sad. I couldn't put a finger on why the sadness but it was there under the surface. Maybe Spring starts the thinking process because after the sleep of nature during Winter everything is now waking and becoming new. Just a thought to think about.
  4. Happy Birthday
  5. hahahah needed an afternoon laugh
  6. It is sad it just sucks that they are so addicting...... I know many people that figure they will quit when the doctor gives them the ultimatum.
  7. Its odd I find Saturdays are hard and it makes no sense! I workout like crazy in the morning, Then run errands or clean all day. I try to exhaust myself and yet it still lingers that crazy urge.... I just don't get it. I don't give in but Sat are hard. Now that tax season is coming to an end and my boyfriend will be around that should make a difference.
  8. absolutely NOPE hitting the gym total body fitness keep the mind busy ;)
  9. Can anyone tell me how you guys post all these neat things........ am I just spastic....
  10. Hello Natalie welcome back. I am had actually quit for a few years back in 2008 actually I saved the calendar from 2008 as tracked my first three weeks into April 10th 2008. Hey Sh*&$ happens. Glad you are back. I used Chantix and that was a big help for the first two weeks.
  11. Sorry Pixel you are feeling so terrible. I believe some is simply coincidence. I have heard people say they feel like they have a cold or coughing in the first few weeks. But if it is an infection that is not from quitting. I have sinus problems regularly when I smoked or didn't for me they are chronic. Once it all settles down I am sure you will feel great for quitting. Hang in there.
  12. NOPE :D
  13. I love Beer... and sitting to watch the birds frolicking the warm feel of the sun on my face..
  14. What I hear when I think of smoking the coughing an coughing and breathlessness of those I know suffering with Lung Cancer.....

  16. I am not an Earl Gray kinda girl however I will enjoy a Ginger Lemon with real honey tea. As for Posh not sure what the term means to me I think of a decorating genre. And if doesn't stop raining here on Long Island I just may call Noah...... we might just need a Ark........ I do like penguins watched a good special on Nature they are so cute. The daddies keep the little ones from freezing by swaddling them between their feet to cute........... IF I COULD ONLY FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST A PICTURE I FOUND THE CUTEST PENGUIN DADDY
  17. NOPE NOPE NOPE Not me not today.
  18. congratulations you did great :)
  19. I called yesterday to check on the women from my job who was one of my smoking partners. This year she was diagnosed stage 3 lung cancer. She can't work, can barely breath when she isn't coughing and she says to me. "Do you still have the urge to smoke?: I said yes every now and then and you will for a while. Even my Mom who will never smoke again (she two had lung cancer two different kinds) states she thinks about it every now and then, not often though and would never give in. So I tell this to the women and she says I still have a pack in the house. I go are you freaking kidding me you are playing with fire you can't even breath. She says I know I know! Again I suggest to her to find a support group even recommend this one. I know she won't make the effort though and it makes me sad. I do know you can't make an addict do anything they have to want to but it is so frustrating. I told her find a cancer support group she says that's not for me. Now I say find a quit smoke support group she says I don't like the computer much....... Oh well all you can do is plant the seed. Needed to vent.....
  20. except it has been a dreary rainy winter as well..................

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
