I'm sure we all wish Evelyn a speedy recovery
sharonsiff replied to Doreensfree's topic in Socializing
That's great that you can have Champix Evelyn, might just be the missing piece of the jigsaw...the bit that helps keep the brain chemistry on more of an even keel. I look forward to you posting that all of your mess are in place, and working for you. Good luck xx -
Just watched it too.. o..m...g I must watch it again, I thought it was a fabulous ending. So it turns out Ford was in fact helping, getting them ready. The William/MIB reveal..fabulous...the moment she looked through him and didn't recognise him, heart breaking. Roll on season 2.

I am about to watch the finale, have you seen it yet Bakon? I loved, last week, when Doleres heard footsteps, said "William" and it was The Man In Black. My heart did a flip, love things like that. I have been looking forward to tonight's viewing all day, ninety minutes too... a real treat. I won't post about the finale until you confirm you have seen it.

I hope you find some mental peace real soon Evelyn...please take care xx

Evelyn I think Tiff hits on a good point, have you yourself read Allen Car's book? It allows you to remove the illusions, that smoking gives you pleasure, without the stress of not being able to smoke...while reading it. You still have the work to do, yourself, but for millions of people it helps in that it reaches the part of the brain needed, the switch. If you have got the book read it again, question it, lose yourself in it. If you haven't you should seriously consider making a purchase. You know you have to do it but I suspect you don't believe you actually can. You can, anyone can, once you've first got all your ducks in a row. Is it likely to feel uncomfortable? Probably yes, but seriously no worse than you must be feeling now. After uncomfortable comes the peace....priceless peace.....buckle up for discomfort knowing the reward awaits you.

Awww how lovely, I will thank you Doreen. Xx

What do you think when you see someone smoking?
sharonsiff replied to Stewie's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
I don't take much notice really, yet it I was to think about it I'd think thank goodness that's not me anymore. -
See unless it is different time sequences then I really haven't a clue what's going on Bakon. Yes, that family, as you say something to watch. I have read that they are going to tie everything up nicely, in the finale, I do hope so. i know this for sure Bakon...Westworld is not a theme park I want to visit..I'll stick with Disney.

I haven't ever watched the film/movie so I will have to do that. I read they are going to do s season 2, that's good, and that they will tie up the ends and give us something else to look forward to. I do hope so as I hope it doesn't turn into another Lost. Do you think Sylvester and Felix are hosts too? Bakon I hope she doesn't kill him, well at least not before we get that full story on him. I know he dragged Dolores into the barn, made to think he raped her, but I'm not sure he did. He did something to her but I don't think it was rape.

Loving it... Took me a few episodes to work out what's going on, that's if that is what actually is going on. So far I'm thinking... William is the MIB and we are seeing two, or three (not sure) time lines. Also suspect that when Bernard is speaking to Dolores that is the past, starting to wonder if he was the human form of Arnold and Bernard is a host made in Arnold's imagine..or something like that. Anybody else hooked, if you are what do you think is going on? In the U.K. Episode 10 airs tonight..so you ahead of me no doubt.
-
So chuffed for you Tiffany, fabulous news. I suspect you are at the mental point now that you've got to this point so forever is quite reasonable now. This really is it...you've only gone and done it...made up for you.
-
Never doubted you...could sense you had your head in the game. Fabulous...so proud and pleased for you.

You'd be crazy to smoke, find something else to do and crack on with that. At least you are airing your thought process here, I don't think for one minute you will purchase some as I don't think you're silly enough. You strike me as a smart cookie..stay smart..get busy and do something to keep you busy.
-
Glad that you had a wonderful time and even better that you didn't smoke. Just think, next vacation, even more more saved towards it through not smoking and no 'thoughts' of smoking...win/win.
-
Get well soon Tiff.

Try and find something physical to do, so you're less living in your mind with your thoughts. Do you have a few kitchen cupboards that might need a pre Christmas clean out?
-
Sounds like you've got your head screwed on right, proud of you. So true when you said scared of success, you've made me think about that. I've no doubt a lot of my attempts failed because I was scared of being a non smoker Evelyn. I'd always been one, from thirteen, so had no memory of what I was like as a non smoker. That statement you wrote could well make other people think, and be of help to them. Turns out in my case I'm quite alright as a non smoker, happier, richer, more holidays and no longer a slave. So glad you're in the right head space...will serve you well.

Feeling worn out, exactly draining at times. However it goes get better, I promise you faithfully it does. You know when you have a break up with somebody? It can feel like that sometimes (well it did to me) in that you're well rid but pine for them still. If you are pining at all don't, just stop, just celebrate that you are no longer in the vicious cycle of putting out and lighting up. I promise you, you have my word, that they are not worth even a second thought. Do you have plenty going on in your life to keep you interested and entertained? I found throwing myself into things helped me..filled a gap...didn't feel so isolated if that makes sense.

I found it tough at first too, so I know where you're coming from. It does get a lot easier..I promise. Oh I loved Mexico, we went once years ago. Stayed in a place called Playa Car...really beautiful. I'm sure once there you get a little more excited. Whatever you do though hang tough, if your lying around more than normal, then the temptation sets in find some water Zumba to do or another activity. Try not to sit about thinking about it. I was a good year quit before my first holiday. We have a beach hut and I would get a bit, you know, when down there. I just got up and mooches about and went for walks. I, like you, knew once I got through the first few months I'd be fine...and was. So Keep doing what you're doing, each day adds up to those first few months. Tenerife is in the Canary Islands, not too far from the African coast. It's a Spanish island although it's nearer Africa than Spain. A four and and a half four flight from the U.K. As a family we love it very much, like our second home really.
-
How exciting, where are you going? I personally love going on holiday/vacation. With all the money I've not wasted on smoking We've managed to take our family to Tenerife each year. You know what it was so lovely to be on holiday and be smoke free. I can understand it's still early days for you and there might be times were it feels uncomfortable. Trust me though, the one after this will feel like pure bliss. Reading that back it sounds as though I'm saying you will have a tricky time, I'm not, I'm just saying this one will be brill and the one after even better. Are you very excited? I can barely sleep with excitement when it's our turn. Like you say keep busy and fill your time, it does help, as half the time I'm sure your mind searches for a what shall I do now? Moment..that most of the time we would fill with smoking. Be great because if you do get a bit restless you can go for a lovely walk, checking out the area and maybe stop for a delicious relaxing lunch...heaven.

Nothing wrong with you, just your mind trying to have its cake and eat it no doubt. The thing is now, you'll get this yourself when more time has passed, that time doesn't matter. If you've been a non smoker for two days or two decades nothing happens (other than it gets easier) it's just actual time....you've stopped, you seem very committed to staying a non smoker....dare I say one of these fine days you'll look back and can't even relate that you were in fact ever a smoker. Any plans for the weekend? It's just I remember you saying weekends felt tough, compared to the week. I was the opposite, I found the weekends not too bad...just the other five days for some reason. Till time passed of course.

I was wondering... Because Daryl's outburst caused Negan to lash out, death two, do you think they choose Daryl so that it softens fans because he might be the next big one to go? Something about it being him made me think that the writing could be on the wall for him, and his character. Really enjoyed the episode, not that I enjoyed the violence, just I enjoyed finally finding out what happened. I will find you.... so very touching and sad.
-
Well that's another day under your belt, they all add up. You know it's really strange as you don't always know when it's happened, that you don't feel like you currently do, it just happens and a little while on you just think it's over, I'm done with that craving crap. A day at a time...gets you a day nearer.
-
Glad that today felt a normal, straight forward day. Hopefully, as time passes, the weekend won't seem quite as challenging.
