  1. Many congratulations to you deltawings :)
  2. That made me laugh...;) I thought of this clip (my accent is a female version as both of us from Bolton) as it just shows how us Islanders don't always understand or get the lingo right. Hope it gives you a laugh.... http://youtu.be/1Yn-2YuWMUo
  3. Exactly..... Well done for not smoking Susana. Like EB said talk to it, reason with it.....it puts the 'chimp' back in the cage ;)
  4. Nooooo!....lol, although with our Lucy's 'bull in a china shop' ways it's only a matter of (a short) time ;)
  5. This is a wonderful 'happy ever after' quit. I am so pleased you have found yourself in a wonderful place now Sarah, both in your freedom from smoking and romantically.....like a Disney film ending....fabulous xx
  6. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your special day :)
  7. I was meaning to say too SuzyQ any questions or if you need any support just post away, been exactly where you are so can relate to how you 'might' be feeling.
  8. Thanks for this Chrispy, I'll sack the telephone voice planned style now xx I will try and remember though to pop a translation in brackets... ;)
  9. That's it isn't it Petra you either pay or don't go. I didn't share the cost story with my dad...he's old school. A case of HOW MUCH!, ridiculous, you're not a millionaire....so you didn't buy them, did you Sharon? Lol...he would do his nut if he knew! (Do his nut: be very cross)
  10. Hiya Susana Remember the chimp link I posted? Well I suspect the chimp and the junkie thoughts come from the same area of the brain so with that in mind I hope this, from the book, helps. Feel7ng insecure from time to time is normal for a chimp, so expect it, accept it then take care of it. Whenever your chimp is feeling insecure, be practical and where possible seek reassurance. Seeking reassurance is a wise thing to do whenever you need it- tick, you're on the right track and doing this Susana Specific fears that are real-The way forward, when looking at specific fears, is to ask yourself what is outside of your control and what is inside of your control. Your chimp will want to control the uncontrollable and then become very distressed when it can't do this. The human accepts that some things we cannot control and therefore we must accept them or deal with them at the time they appear. So from that Susana maybe it 'might' help you accept that the thoughts will come, they are to be expected while you are detoxing from cigarettes. Taking care of it, well by not actually smoking you are in effect taking care of it. I don't even know if this helps you Susana but I posted it just in case it does.
  11. If you say so Sarge, again all it is in your opinion which I can take or leave as your personal opinion makes no difference to me, in the grand scheme of things. SuzyQ congratulations to you for quiting smoking and I am sure you'll find getting to zero nicotine quite straightforward.
  12. Your quit Evelyn and you do it in whatever way works for you, you don't need anyone's permission ;) Six days already?......brilliant, so pleased for you and it's lovely to cyber see you xx
  13. Nor did I Jenny, I swear I honestly still can't believe I did it, I actually only went and did it! I too think it's a valuable tool, in the right hands with the right intent.
  14. If he was just using nicotine he would have in fact quit smoking though Jackie, done both myself...huge difference between smoke and vapor. You would be right to say he is still using nicotine, so is still a nicotine user....but he's not a smoker. Although you say he asked for a ciggy so is still smoking, so is a smoker...phew..lol Vaping is not smoking though, no matter what folk 'think'.
  15. Have finished the dining room, I love this even more than the living room. It was a mixture of this and that furniture yet a like of eggshell paint has turned it into a proper room. You know, I have seriously never felt happier since I both stopped smoking and picked up a paint brush. Might not be your taste of course but I am made up
  16. Great job Andrew, congratulations and I hope you enjoy your day.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
