  1. Amy you can do it, seriously you can....just trust what all of us, who have done, are saying to you. So glad you're around again xx
  2. Happy Birthday Joe, hope you're having a wonderful day xx
  3. (((Doreen))) it just shows how dangerous it all is doesn't it? The 'it'll never happen to me"...puff, puff. Gutted, just gutted for you both. Tiff.... stop it, just stop it thinking that way! You sound frustrated, under stably so, all nice and Dandy then WHAM.... the thoughts come. That's the thing though really it is frustrating at times, bloody frustrating! If you can accept that there is no quick fix and it's tough luck really but just part of it then it gives you a finish line in sight. The ironic thing the frustration is on full belt because you can't smoke yet we forget that we only feel likebthis because we did smoke, ironic really. Smoke and you'll feel pi##ed off.... Don't smoke and you'll feel pi##ed off, at times, but that is only temporary and will eventually vanish, as if by magic. I make choice number 2, through gritted teeth at times- hated it truth be told, but can never begin to explain to you how glad I am I did. You've got choice in you too....head down, drack on and eyes on the prize. Them's the choices Tiff and the reality of the situation.

    Help!

Aww Babs.... Everyone has given you fantastic info already so I'll just say, from mum to mum, " chin up my lovely, you've got an exciting new phase of your life to explore now ;) " xxx
  5. Bang tidy is a new one.... "she's bang tidy!" Means she's sexually attractive.... Bakon might like that one.
  6. I think blow me (said by a man) means something different here too Lisa ;)...lol.. So having a beano to you is ingesting a gas relief tablet...lol... oh it's so funny how it means different things doesn't it?.... lol...
  7. Aww Cher, it's just horrid isn't it? Losing the member of the family is heartbreaking isn't it, I feel for you. When we lost our two beloved dogs I brought 'some comfort' to my daughters and I hope it brings some to you... I told them that although it might seem strange you'll see them again in five minutes. I said that time is not the same in heaven and by the time they have their dinner, a drink and a run we will be there again with them, that in their time it's only five minutes and what's five minutes? Just think five minutes Cher xx
  8. Very well done, you must be made up!
  9. We had a Beano: we had a fabulous time Well blow me!: well I'm shocked! Bog off!, do one! : Get lost! Mickey Mouse: cockney rhyming slang for house I can't be mithered with all this: I can't be bothered with all this.
  10. To me it feels priceless as I finally have the mental peace I never, ever have to do that ever again.
  11. Crisps: you call them potato chips Chips: you call the fries That confuses me every flipping time. Ordered a hot dog and chips special in Island Of Adventure. Gave me a hot dog and a bag of crisps (potato chips) pfft... cocked my lunch plan right up! ;)
  12. Oh my giddy godfathers it won't be long now, how exciting Paul!
  13. Fabulous work my lovely.... so pleased for you xx
  14. Simply fabulous Wiley, just fabulous!
  15. Glad you're back....how you getting on today?
  16. Susana....first things first it's no wonder each quit feels different. I once read about this on a health forum but can't for the life of me find it now, sorry...so bear with me. Everyone has completely different bio chemistry-everyone. So it said that due to current bio chemisrty and changes in diet and other things each quit can feel different. It explained in detail sadly I'm not able. I remember reading though about the tobacco smoke gives people different things that they are used to (remove nicotine from your mind here I'm talking about the other super charged crap) so maybe this quit physically feels harder due to whatever chemical cocktail is suddenly missing? Made a lot of sense when I read it but am struggling to explain it well. So, if this is not Easy Peasy quit and is crapsville quit- good. You can then at least see what the chemical cocktail's absence is doing to you, can maybe make you say 'errr don't think so!, ain't putting myself through this shyte again!' Use that it's tough to spur you on as if you do you will honestly never, ever, have to do any of this ever again-ever. Trust me on this if nothing else...if it's tough suck it up, accept it's due to smoking in the first place and not really because you now can't. Suck it up and you have my word it does get better, it really truly does and at worst if it doesn't and ciggs were acting as a self medication for anti depressants (which many folk find out they were) then give it a set time and chat to your doctor. If you don't feel you need nrt or meds great but if you do then use them-do whatever you need to do to make this your solid quit. Hope I didn't confuse you, I confuse myself at times ;)
  17. Aww Tiff it's horrid that our parents get old isn't it? We forget we're getting 'older' too and just see them getting old and changing. Tiff, please don't look for gremlins in your mind that feed back what's the point, you'll find loads! You likely want a huge hug and some sort of comfort and likely thing a cigarette is what normally works. Find an alternative comfort Tiff, the cigs don't work, there are other ways to find a pick me up comfort. I'm sending you a cyber ((((hug))))) You must not let emotions, like this, damage your current resolve. Chin up or have a cry, both if you need but don't give ciggy thoughts any mental airtime.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
