  1. We have just started in our house, only on season 3 and we can't get enough of it. Someone told me about this, years ago, and I mentally poo pooed it, due to hearing it was about zombies...not my bag. How wrong was I, love it, a really good character based show. Have not dared read any posts in this thread though Beth, in case it gives anything away...as I'm well behind on it.
  2. Hi PAP I found it to be a mixture of both, both in my mind and physical effects. When I say physical effects I just mean years of smoking where masking a couple of health issues, so without the cigs, they came to the surface and made me feel quite poorly both mentally and physically. Yet for so many others it can be a breeze, can be irritating that they can't reach for a smoke, but nothing more that irritation that they refuse to allow to become an issue. Everyone is different because everyone has different mental health, and physical health. The good news is though that wether it is easy peasy or hellish it can be done. At least for those who do find it a struggle they have here. Congratulations on your almost two months...you sound in a very good place, mentally.
  3. This is amazing, I mean how on earth!
  4. I knew I would forget something! If any of you are planning to get your Retinol on ;) then although I can see the Verso is working already it's far too expensive at £100 a go for each of their lines for my bank balance...I'm not Rockerfella! So I personally plan to do a Retinol serum, as the serums have smaller molecules and really should get in, after a AHA toner pads ;) she mentions this brand a lot in her blogs and I found this one and am going to order once my Verso is getting low £43:50 and great reviews. Don't forget though there are many different Retinol products out there for you to check out, I just posted this one as it might be of interest to someone...off to do my fabulous skincare routine, it's an event I look forward to now..instead of wiping off the cosmetics with a pad..lol http://www.beautybay.com/skincare/peterthomasroth/retinolfusionpm/
  5. I'd does doesn't it Nancy, I can see why it was ageing me as it was bring my cheeks into my nose! I have gone high up and can see a huge difference, has changed the shape of my face...when I'm wearing make up.
  6. Retinol, I got me some Retinol :) I was recommended this by the beauty adviser Katie, from Beauty and The Boutique. She told me to try some Retinol to help reduce the appearance of my pores in my T Zone (am combination skin, normal with an oily t zone) she recommended either Roc or if I wanted quicker results Verso...I purchased the latter! She also explains that it's a combination of Retinol (vitamin A) and the AHA acids that will make a huge difference. I found two lots of fabulous information about using Retinol and Acids on the face. http://www.carolinehirons.com/2012/07/things-i-say-over-and-over-again-in.html http://www.carolinehirons.com/2014/08/beauty-myth-no-9-you-cant-use-retinols.html And last on for today and a very important one..Sun Protection Factor. http://www.carolinehirons.com/2013/04/spf-cheat-sheet.html I hope the information, and I know there's lots ;) will help others as much as it's helped me. I have more but will post them in a few days xx
  7. Anti ageing info...;) http://www.carolinehirons.com/2010/08/beauty-mouth-dissects-anti-ageing.html And... Things she is sick of repeating to the likes of us folk who treat our skin with such disrespect http://www.carolinehirons.com/2012/07/things-i-say-over-and-over-again-in.html
  8. I was a toner dinosaur, seriously! I hardly even bothered as I thought whats the point as it's not closing my pores. Since learning from her cheat sheets I know know that the 'new toner' is to exfoliate and then second tone ( my Vitamin C Spray) to hydrate. I've got me some AHA pads on the way and am going to purchase the BHA pads from Boots tomorrow (the Clearasil Fruit pads from the budget video). I have also got some Liquid Gold coming for my twice a week treatment...this shoe leather skin needs all the acid it can get! Found this informative link on the difference between the two acids you can use. http://www.paulaschoice.co.uk/learn/explaining-exfoliants/
  9. Well I was buying dry skin moisturiser, turns out I was dehydrated so ended up with product not sinking in and being no use nor ornament... You live and learn. Another great link http://www.carolinehirons.com/2011/11/dry-or-dehydrated-cheat-sheet.html
  10. Information on cleansing. I will add here that in amongst all her blogs I found she rated Body Shop Nutrigenics cleansing gel as a good one. http://www.carolinehirons.com/2011/07/cleansing-cheat-sheet.html
  11. So if your routine is now sorted here is a fabulous video, by Caroline, on best budget skincare lines if you are working from a tight budget
  12. I was old school clean my face with my Micellar water on a pad, toner..if I could be bothered then would slap on an expensive moisturiser, no wonder my skin was so dehydrated...I have been following this routine, to the letter, since Saturday night and my skin is rewarding me visually for it ;) http://www.carolinehirons.com/2013/06/routines-cheat-sheet.html#uds-search-results
  13. So if your looking to sort out your skin this is a great place to start...where to spend your money in your skincare routine. Just to say I checked out this lady on you tube and her skin is positively delicious...so I'm all eyes and ears. http://www.carolinehirons.com/p/faqs.html#uds-search-results
  14. My skin has seriously changed too Babs, sadly. I've been on a mission all weekend, called operation sort out skin care. I can see I was covering the problems with Cosemtics. My problems are the self inflicted through smoking and years of sun damage. I am going to post lots of basic information that I have learned and I post because already (since Friday evening) I can physically see a HUGE difference. A combination of following the complete cleansing plan, lots of water and my new Retinol product (Verso travel pack at £40) and I've not even brought my AHA to the table yet...this really is it, I've cracked it now I know what to do...over the moon doesn't even cover it. Lots of posts with links coming now and I urge anyone who has got 35 plus ex smokers skin to read on....
  15. Sorry I missed it too, hope you had a wonderful day xx
  16. Congratulations fabulous news :)
  17. Purchased so much today...don't really know where to start. the ex ciggaretes money is giving me so much joy, priceless really. Purchased the Dior Air Flash and I've finally found a foundation that has stopped my search, at last! Mac Pro wear is fab, don't get me wrong, but because it's long wearing it is a heavy texture and I can see now, after using this, that it was setting in all my fine lines and wrinkles. The Dior is just super light, I can't actually feel it on my face, and gives super coverage. The finish is like an almost velvet finish and I know might sound crazy but it has knocked years off me. The fine lines and large pores are no longer the first thing I see. I understand it's high end, at £33, but I'd gladly pay that each month if I had to, to have finally found a product that makes it look like I have amazing skin...cause trust me, I ain't! Picked up the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara (available in the USA) for £7. This is just like my Benefits They're Real at £25. Seriously, I can't tell the difference and my purse will thank me too. It's obviously not like the Youngique 3D mascara, but a damm good match for Benefits. Oh and managed to get a half price beautiful pink coat in the sale, half price.
  18. And to make matters worse Jackie I used the word egg, just realised Bakon will have a field day now..lol Taxi for Sifford...lol
  19. You know what... I have never even read/watched soft, medium or hard porn (is it like boiled eggs?) should this be a bucket list event for me to partake in such things? Never crossed my mind.... Until now..... Kidding ;)
  20. Forgot to add this! A great link that explains the workings of Retinol...vitamin A http://www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/anti-aging/_/retinol-for-anti-aging
