  1. Please take a look at this video and read the resource information about Quitting Smoking For A Specific Event or Time Frame Your quit must be separate from life events. Your quit must stand on it's own and not be tied to anything else. I fear that now you are done with surgery, you will fall into addiction again. Please reaffirm your commitment, Every Day and stay FREE.
  2. Nicotine is pretty much gone from your body. Now, the restructuring of your brain by choosing freedom over the slavery of addiction. YOU are doing great, Linda. There will be good days and bad days, good hours and bad for a while. The more you can accentuate the positive, the easier you will have it.

  10. This isn't about smoking really, is it ? You've got a FOUR MONTH run of FREEDOM going on ! I had some gruesome triggers/craves late into my quit. You know what to do. Breathe. Take Some Water. Take a run or a walk or a shower. This feeling will subside.
  11. Darcy ! Baby cakes ! You are not a smoker ! Let us find something else for you to do, please baby ! Remember your house IS YOUR HOUSE and You make the rules.
  12. Here is Cristóbal's great thread Your Quit & Your LIfe, The Proper Sequence I know it is difficult changing smokey thoughts into other thoughts. I trained myself to concentrate on breathing and find something of beauty to give me a bump of endorphins. I found beauty all around me. That light on that leaf. A cloud. A certain color. The feel of silk or velvet or the bark of a tree, flowing water. The scent of lemons. A perfume. Revisit a beautiful memory. Listening to a favored piece of music or reading a favorite story or poem. (or writing one !) Even faking a smile will start endorphins working. These simple practices will serve you throughout your life when you encounter stress or pain or fear.
  13. Look, Michelle. It doesn't matter what happens in your life, your quit MUST be sacrosanct ! Stop giving junkie thoughts power. They only have the power you give them.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
