Take advantage of this time and educate yourself about nicotine addiction. Life is too rich to be burdened with addiction and you're doing Three. Nicotine, Caffeine and Sugar. -

You are facing your nicotine addiction. Congratulations ! It isn't always easy, but this is nothing beyond your capability or your control. The side effects are normal and short term. You can power through this challenge, S. You needn't poison yourself with sugar while you deal with the poison of nicotine. Try deep breaths, exercise. Water with a lemon or slice of ginger etc. If you are drinking black tea, be mindful of Possible Changes In Caffeine Tolerance I don't know if you have quit the NRT Gum completely or are still using Prolonging Nicotine Withdrawal Your 'dullness' will abate. You are freeing yourself of addiction. Be kind to yourself. -
I don't hear either. I hear garbled non words.

We have all sorts of love here. Tough love, cuddly love and everything in-between. This is the beauty of the QTrain. Support comes in many guises and it is only an individual's preference. People can take what they need and leave the rest. We all want the best for eachother and communicate that in our own honest and individual way. This is serious business, where a cuddly feel good vibe may not be effective when it comes to facing a ferocious and deadly addiction. Here is where the truth is essential and the truth is neither cuddly or tough. Truth has no opinion. It is just Truth. The groovy stuff happens in terms of support and recovery but, FIRST, Nicotine Addiction must be addressed without frills. I am curious to hear how @Sunshine59 is doing, after putting aside a long term addiction to nicotine gum. I wonder what he is experiencing and hope he shares this with us so, we can learn and other's may be inspired. -
I danced for an hour and a half, paused for 15, to my favorite living band, Tower of Power. I am so in love with each and every one of these guys. They just knock me out.

Hey, @Sunshine59, How are you doing putting the nicotine gum down ? How are you feeling ? -
Your need for water could be just because you are thirsty. Smoking hid so many things our bodies needed. I would light a smoke instead of have lunch. Light a smoke instead of having a glass of water. Light a smoke instead of listening to my body or, light up a smoke instead of dealing with a situation. Now, you are able to remember yourself, remember your body and listen to its needs. Here's whats going on, you fabulous nicotine free creature, you.

Here are some resources for you Niklaus, Minimizing The Most Common Side Effects To Quitting Smoking This is a great video. It made a huge impact on my early quit. As Sunshine mentions, keeping an eye on your blood sugar and sipping cranberry juice will help you. Breathing deep beautiful clean clear breaths is also effective and always available ! New Reactions To Anger After Quitting Smoking Smoking Triggers You know, most everything we did as smokers , every activity lasting longer that 20 minutes, had a cigarette involved. Facing down and breaking these patterns is how we build a sturdy quit. Everything we did as smokers is done better with out smoking. We have a clearer focus with no distraction of crashing from the nicotine high. and from Joel Spitzer, "The kind of trigger talked about here is not just when going out to different places though, home based activities will have the same reaction. Any activity that takes over 20 minutes would eventually get tied into smoking. Mowing the lawn, laundry, using the bathroom, paying bills, talking on the phone, basically, anything that took time very likely became a smoking based activity or had built in smoking breaks associated with them. The first time encountering any of these activities after cessation would be a powerful trigger. But again, the only way to break these associations is by encountering them the first times, and overcoming them. After a few repeated episodes, not smoking will become the habit for the event. Again, not by time passing but rather by repeated experience. But my closing statement above still applies to them. No matter what triggers occur, all that you need to do to overcome it and learn a new experience as an ex-smoker is to Never Take Another Puff!"

I am a big fan of David Eagleman, his books and his Ted Talks are v. interesting. This will be interesting also, H. Thanks. I'm an atheist, also. Atheism is, in the broadest sense, an absence of belief in the existence of deities. This lecture is about our brain and the possibilities therein.
