  9. I understand, Bat. You are not alone. Your post had me belly laughing and thinking about what song would be my cry for help. It might be this one, a group and a song so far removed from my listening pleasure that you would know, were I to play it, something was wrong, very very wrong. Very wrong indeed. I play it here for the humor and the particular playlist. We are getting to know our rooms quite well of late. This is not a cry for help......yet.

  16. We have body memories of the act of smoking. I remember reaching for one automatically in my early quit but, I only found air. There are a lot of these memories and triggers like driving and phone calls and also seasonal ones, summer cook-outs etc. Smoking used to be a huge part of us. It had to be to keep the addiction rolling. Every pattern you change you then own. They won't be associated with cigarettes anymore. That was a great revelation in the first days for me. You are doing so well, Mac, it seems you really have an understanding of addiction. This is so nice to see and ensures a sturdy quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
