  1. Thinking about you, hoping all is well, and missing your great energy
  2. Afraid to change ? I am still healthy, it isn't damaging ME. Fear and Denial DENIAL, was my modus operandi . I was The Perfect Addict. Like Sunnyside, I told myself, I enjoy it. and I did ! after all, I was diligent in feeding my addiction ! A most diligent and dedicated SLAVE. A diligent and dedicated slave killing myself, poisoning others and supporting Big Tobacco. Where's that at ? I am so glad I quit. Freedom is a tremendous Gift.
  3. site was down, Evelyn. I don't know what you would like us posters to do but, I will be glad to help in any way I can. I was thinking about maybe having a section here that referred people to different mental health sites or message boards.

    day 5

Don't believe the raging psychopath inside your head. It is just your addiction yelling at you. That voice will get quieter and softer every crave you conquer. Soon, there will be no more psychopath yelling at you. Soon, you will have your True inner voice back. The voice that loves and protects you. Hold tight, stay true. Day 5, you are in the belly of the beast...hold tight, stay true. We are on your side.
  5. I sit in my rocking chair and rock. I rock with Seriousness, with Intent. I pay full attention to my distress. I give it time to show itself. Easy to identify the demon. Then, I put something on the jukebox and dance like a wild woman. Demon gone until the next time.

  10. Sirius, what you said was, weird. You didn't say, crazy. What about all those bon-bons I elegantly sucked while in my cerebral vapors on the fainting couch ? Mais oui... another thread to accomodate our glamorously sophisticated methods of quitting smoking, s'il vous plaît My primal screaming at the tracks while a train roared down the rails may fail to qualify. p.s. I'll speak to Stuart later about running away with knives. sharp knives.

  13. Once you decide to quit smoking there will be nothing stopping you from the freedom you deserve.

  14. Cool post, Sirius * I sharpened all my knives, too ! In fact, I got into the excellent habit of keeping them sharp. I have a lot of knives. * Deep cleaned my house like a maniac, it was so beautiful. I wish that maniac chick would come back once in a while. * I was eating a lot of Satsumas and worms aren't crazy about citrus near the compost so, I scraped down the white from the skins, put the skins in bottles with isopropyl alcohol and made excellent mosquito repellent. * Yes ! Breathing ! Learning how to take a break after a chore and have beautiful clean deep breaths be my 'reward'.
  15. No, your Bush will just get shaggier and shaggier and shaggier until it trips you up and that will be sad. Do I have Malaria, Dengue Fever or, do I just need a nap ?
  16. Where is our beautiful BrandyWyne ? Please don't get lost, come back to your friends who are here to support you. Many of us have had relapses only to power through to a sticky quit. You can do it, B. Please have faith in yourself. S

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
