  4. Envy ? Missing something ? Envy of smokers poisoning themselves and everyone around them ? Envy ? Missing something ? Missing committing slow suicide ? Missing torturing yourself and your family by having them watching you suffer and die an ugly death ? Please examine your envy and what you feel your are missing by quitting smoking. The only thing you are missing are the lies of addiction. A certain amount of struggle may be necessary . What is easy and smooth ? Is there anything of great value that comes easy and smooth ? Your struggle will not last long and can be somewhat alleviated when you begin to understand the changes taking place in your body/mind. You can choose to make this easier or harder on yourself. Think about a perception shift. You are freeing yourself from addiction.

  7. I never felt guilty or ashamed about smoking. Far from it. I was PROUD to be smoking and belligerent about it. Never gave a hoot about what others thought, ever, only annoyed at not being able to smoke where and when I wanted to. I was an obedient slave to nicotine and would spout that rhetoric until the cows came home. Sure, I had a right to kill myself but, was in denial of the deadly effects of Second Hand, Third Hand smoke. Suddenly, after more than 40 years of smoking, I quit on a whim. A personal challenge to myself. It was then that the truth hit me. I am with @jillar , you quit smoking the minute you had your last puff. Personally, I am super jubilant when nicotine leaves bodies because then the true healing begins and your chances of maintaining a successful quit increase a hundred fold. The longer you feed nicotine addiction by abusing or misusing NRTs, the greater your risk of relapse.

  15. The best thing you can do is to try and quell any anxiety. Deep breathing though any episodes may really help you. I did experience The Great Smoke Free Flatulence. I think a lot of quitters do. This calmed down after a few months. As people sign in today, there may be folks who have experienced your symptoms so hold on while the world wakes up or gets off work. We all will encourage you to keep building a strong and sturdy quit. Your health issues won't be helped by nicotine addiction or by smoking. That is for sure. So , take heart. You are a free person, you showed yourself to be smarter than your addiction. Rewards ! Celebrations ! Try and dance on the good foot....You Quit Smoking !!!
  16. Congratulations, Jack ! Ahhhh, Gin. Boodles ? Tanquerey ?
  17. Hello Amer and congratulations on your quit! Whatever you are currently experiencing, smoking will not help. Please, seed professional attention for any and all health concerns. Googling is all well and good but, can also cause distress, there is a lot of misinformation out there. None of us here are health professionals. Some may have experienced your symptoms and can give you some comfort but, you may need expert advise. Smoking often hid underlying health issues both physical and mental which may need to be addressed now. Acknowledging your accomplishment of quitting smoking and using your new freedom will bring you self-respect and self-esteem. You are still young in your quit, give yourself a chance.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
