  1. funkin' it up with Walter today. Plays every Wednesday down the street. The best 10 spot I could ever, ever spend. Dig Jack Cruz on bass. Monster, monster.
  2. Damn y'all. Can't we get some old timer eye candy in here ? We're talented and gorgeous non smokers !
  3. Protect your quit, friends. Protect it with everything you have, everything you are. Freedom from addiction is a generous reward for any toil or trouble you may experience and our bodies are amazing healing machines when we give them the opportunity.
  4. Hey Ren, Your voice sounds really good. Congratulations on your 90 days, bebe. 90 days is an incredible accomplishment, let nothing diminish this. Polish up your badge...you don't smoke. This is awesome. I know it isn't easy to believe us but, everything will get easier. Hold on, keep powering through. You are a hero in my world, Ren.
  5. Addiction is a bitch, G, Although my initial impetus to quit was on a whim, it took more than whimsy to succeed. It took resolve and focus. In hindsight, most of us will realize we could have made it easier on ourselves but, we must remember this is a pervasive Addiction . Once our resolved is established, it is just a matter of focus and time but getting there can be grimy. The voice of the addict is a seductive menace. Congratulations on your quit, G. I look forward to your year celebration in the Fall.
  6. knock 'em dead, Beaz !
  7. Thanks for posting, Ren. I smoke the blessed herb, Ren, and I would never dream of adulterating it with the poison of tobacco not that smoking anything is good for our lungs. In my not so humble opinion, you need to get a lot more serious about nicotine addiction, Ren. You did start the shit up again. See your brain after one puff ? I think that the most important and useful thing about dealing with nicotine addiction is the opportunity to be brutally honest with ourselves. There is no shame or any bullsiht like that, it is just truth. Here, we are addicts putting our addiction to sleep. You can quit smoking, Ren, if you want to, no matter what else is going on inside. You can put this addiction to rest. I guarantee you, the personal power you will amass will inevitably help you in many, many other ways. Please be kind to yourself and stay in touch. We give a fcuk. S
  8. I re read this book every few years, johnny. It is accurately true, authentic, New Orleans. There are a quite a few bars that have similar characters in real life. My best gfriend has been growing into Miss Trixie for years. It is v. cool to see other folks dig this book. I think it's hilarious.
  9. Congratulations, Boater on your Two Months of Freedom. Please, reward yourself, have some fun. Soon, each of your brain receptors will have learned a new way of releasing endorphins making lots of real happy for you.
  10. To be filed under: Change can also be good. One day, a few years ago, I changed my avatar here to other peoples by 'saving their pic' and replacing mine with theirs, so there were two of 'us'. I was doreen and then bakon, Joe and a few other people during the day, it made chicks and sticks very interesting. s
  11. It doesn't really matter if you have cravings...cravings are not commands. Since you have made the commitment to live free without cigarettes, the conversation is OVER. You don't smoke. Distract yourself, embrace the suck and power through. These episodes fade slowly but, they fade. You are in the thick of it right now and the first year is full of seasonal body memories... my second year was easy but, I was still on guard. In fact, at 5 years, I am still conscious that one puff will reignite my addiction although, all the craven craving is done. Hang in there, Philly. You need to trust us, it does get better. It gets better every day. You just can't see that right now. Don't be discouraged. You quit smoking. You are a friggin hero. s
  12. go have more fun, you beautiful non smoker you.
  13. bump for anybody taking a chance on a whim. Quitting smoking is a great adventure.
  14. pre-washed the linen hangs like a bedouin tent, evocatively About 'the other' Weegie Woman wants to know. "Go for it" says she. She is always right. Take your chances, get happy. Love is where it's at

  16. Remedies for Hives
  17. hello friend ! I am sorry you are feeling the heat. stress and oh boy, hives ! you poor thing ! You can't truthfully say you don't care, Ren because you DO care, otherwise you wouldn't have posted. I know with absolute certainty that cigarettes will not cure your hives or relieve your stress. You must find different solutions, solutions that actually work. Go take a cool bath. Pamper your poor skin. Sure, you may be thinking about smoking. Go on and think about it. Think long and hard about smoking. If you are thinking smoking will make you feel better or be in any way a good thing, think again because you aren't thinking right. You are a smart woman. Show yourself some kindness and great respect. You don't smoke anymore. You already made the choice. Aloe for your skin and love for your soul, Ren. S

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
