Coming to terms with how addiction turned us into selfish, spoiled brats made it easier for me to identify the addicts voice and choose Freedom's voice. The voices are both powerful and one leads us to incredible changes and attitudes, the other keeps us down and abused. Start listening to your voice of freedom no matter how faint it may be, it will soon be so beautifully loud and inspiring. Your Spoiled Addicted Brat has nothing for you. Never did, never, never will.

Christine, You are dealing with a dangerous and deadly addiction which has changed your DNA, changed the way you think. You have the power to override the addiction. Each minute you have choice and are able to choose instead of letting addiction choose everything for you. If you don't have super resolve or commitment don't worry about it. Take one moment at a time. These moments will build and grow your confidence. Stay in the Now. You don't smoke. End of discussion. Go reward yourself and go have some FUN. s

I join Jim and Recip (and just saw Jillar chime in with her wonderful wisdom) in accentuating that your resolve in the decision to quit smoking is all that matters. Either you choose to smoke or you choose to be free. This is no joke and you dismiss the effects of Nicotine and smoking or vaping tobacco at your peril. Like all of us, quitting tobacco and putting our nicotine addiction to rest is all about life, the quality of life and death and the quality of death. Choose wisely Christine and protect your quit. You will love freedom. S

Can't sleep, bloody brain keeps thinking about it
Sazerac replied to Tammy's topic in The S.O.S. Board
Hello Tammy, You are in the thick and grimy bit of fighting nicotine addiction and all you can do is live through it. Little comfort, I know. Take walks, scream in the shower, dance around wildly. Power through. Begin to re-train your brain and replace smoky thoughts with anything else. I would chant, 'Free Your Head' repeatedly and in a few languages replete with profanities. This is temporary. You have more power than you may realize. You have the ability to change your thoughts, even if you are just faking it to make it through. Visualize a flower, an ocean, changing clouds and replace smoky thoughts with some beauty. You don't smoke anymore and that is a truly fine thing, Tammy. Glad to see you posting ! Happy to have you as an important member of this community. Hang in there, protect your quit. -

It's a shame bakon had to manipulate the photos and add 30 years and 30 pounds to me but, it made him feel young and beautiful , why just look at him ! and I'm all for that. Joe, the important thing in the pic with the Missus and friend and me was the Willie's Fried Chicken. Our bakon has a few sobriquets.

Granted, I was a reluctant egg many, many years ago until bakon said that the Eggs were just bad girls. Then, there was no choice but to surrender. I am an Egg. I am an Iconic Egg with appropriate footwear. I had so much fun and more to be had tomorrow.
