  1. Hi Daisy, Craves only last a very short time. You can time them and they won't seem so powerful. It is only a few minutes. You quit smoking ! Now you can gather your wits and power through. Do anything but smoke. Where are you ? Can you practice primal screaming ?
  2. You are right, we should never underestimate the junkie brain. All it cares about is feeding the addiction and killing you in the process. This is the truth. You must get very serious about quitting smoking and never take another puff, no matter what. You are more powerful than any damn crave, Daisywheels.
  3. Struggler, The mental fog is no joke. Some people get it, some don't. I certainly did. Just know that it passes and you come out the other side a stronger, better and more beautiful smoke free person. The Great Smoke Free Mental Fog

hello blur, It is heartening to hear you are educating yourself about nicotine addiction, this is an essential and potent ingredient in a successful quit. Pleas be kind to yourself like @c9jane29 recommends. Your body is going through monumental changes and needs care and feeding. Congratulations ! You quit smoking !
  10. We are all nicotine addicts and you are expressing the voice of the addict right now. You must separate your thoughts from the junkie thoughts, this will take some discipline. Each day is a new day, a different day and the junkie will think of new torture techniques. You must kick them to the curb, you have quit smoking and YOU ARE THE BOSS. Things get better....then you may have a rotten day....then things get better.... Quitting Smoking Is A Journey, a journey that leads to marvelous self-discovery and self-respect. Please hold on ! You are stronger than any crave. You quit smoking ! Congratulations ! Here are some of the things our junkie self says to us Red Flags
  11. Bump to help get newbies all riled up

  13. I am delighted you made it through Christa. Do not worry, smoking WILL leave your thoughts. Soon it will turn into an annoying gnat, then a fly in the next room and then it will just be a vague thought...'oh yeah...I used to smoke'. Stay focused, hold tight to your resolve and Protect Your Quit as you would something infinitely precious. YOU are doing GREAT !

Well, Frezflops, I certainly wouldn't try it on NOW. Why, just LOOK WHERE IT'S BEEN !
  15. Like Jillar, I didn't smell a thing until I quit. I was a belligerent smoker and didn't care a whit. A real junkie asshole...for friggin' DECADES !
  16. You are spot on ! It is degrading to be a smoker...I think we lost all kinds of self respect by smoking. Well, addiction does that...no surprise there. YOU are going to LOVE being free, Parsley. You will realize just how powerful you are and re-claim your body and your mind and your life. I am excited for you and it sounds like you are too..."I feel this is the ONE!" Fabulous.
  17. Parsley ! Today is your first day of Freedom ! This is awesome ! Tomorrow is another day of Freedom. You will succeed, there is not one reason in the world stopping you. Be extra kind to yourself. Sleep in and have good good dreams. Stay close to the board, we will be thinking about you. Love, S

  19. I'm listening to really low down dirty blues and holding myself together.
  20. Once you commit to your decision to quit smoking everything falls into place. Not to say it is a walk in the park but, you will have the fortitude to get through. You can quit smoking, blur. All you have to do is never stick a smoke in your mouth and set it on fire. Those two actions are ridiculous.
  21. Congratulations Gordo ! Remember to stay vigilant and reward yourself .
  22. Congratulations GITW !

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
