  1. Hi Christine. I abstained when pregnant but, never meant to quit, resuming immediately after the birth. I decided to quit in 2013 and that was that. There is a lot to learn from each quit, each attempt to quit. Congratulations on your three month plus ! quit. How are you feeling ? What has helped you succeed ?

I discovered Levi on the Weather Underground blog comments, someone gave a link a few years ago. Levi is tops. He is calm and super informative, a true teacher. Plus , his site has lots of geek stuff, like airplane reconnaissance data and lots of things I hope to understand some day. lol. Thanks again for the local links. I was impressed with their delivery...not frantic but, well informed. Stay as dry as possible, J. S

Some are very informative. Don't forget Levi's Tropical Tidbits he will have a post later this evening. and of course, The National Hurricane Center This is a serious storm.
  8. October 27 in Connecticut. Will you be in NY ?
  9. Oh Christa, Thank you so much for posting such a positive thread. You never know how a quit will go and I am so happy you have had a pretty smooth one. Keep your vigilance locked and loaded, sometimes an unnerving or unexpected crave will throw you for a temporary loop. Drink deep from the bottomless cup of NOPE. I am so glad you are sharing your quit with us, Christa ! Thank you so much and wishing you continued success in all you do. You will be easy to spot....the woman with that marvelous glowing skin, so beautiful !
  10. For everyone in the path of Florence Please be safe and careful.
  11. Sarge's words rang loud and true. 'Don't make it out to be more than it is'
  12. Hi @notsmokinjo I've changed my mind about the fabric and decided to wear the tabard I made, antique silk faille I wore at her ordination. Thomas Moore hat also. I will find snaps of this. It is Elegant and nice drapey and I really love it. I have witchy poo boots of creamy soft leather. Will post pics. Dancing costumes are v. fun. I be your's were exceptional ! Now I am researching ways to send a large canvas painting to CT as wedding present.
  13. Oh, Linda. I've been thinking of you all day and wondering how you were. I am glad to see you vent and sorry you are having a hard time. It is great you are able to keep your quit separate from your life. You quit is one of the really great things you are doing for yourself and I am so proud of you. Tomorrow is another day and I hope one is easier for you. Please try and reward yourself with something....even if it is small because you are doing such great work for yourself. Love, s

  18. I just found this exciting video ! Every time we think new thoughts (like beat a crave ! ) this is the beautiful ballet that happens in our brain.
  19. Gustave Moreau, Les Licornes (The Unicorns),
  20. Fluff, If you have the eau du 'dead rat' smell permeating...use peppermint oil. I soaked rags in peppermint and tied them to fans. It was the only thing that worked. I hope you are feeling better soon. Thanks for checking in. s
  21. This post makes me so happy, Parsley. I am so glad you are making your quit work for YOU. It really is an extraordinary opportunity for self exploration and self examination. The lessons learned will serve you forever !
  22. @Wee fluffy me was spotted in chicks & sticks. So, I telling the Rat Patrol to stand down.
  23. Laying out the fabric and designing a tabard for my Mother of Bride ensemble. Daughter's 'colours' are rose, gold and a goofy turquoise. I'm not playing with the turquoise. This is silk upholstery fabric with a really nice weight and a powerful but, subtle shimmer in the gold. I'll be wearing black underneath and will make another Thomas Moore hat with tassels. Love tassels. There will be tassels on the tabard ties too. Traditionally, tabards are worn over your Knightly armor. Funny that.
  24. Congratulations Sparkzzz !

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
