You are so right about complacency, @Phoebe2. As I approach my fifth year, I know to keep NOPE as a mantra and recognize the 'Ever' part as Never Ever.

hello @Lilly, I am so sorry you resumed smoking again, really sorry. Nicotine is our enemy and it is a fiercely persistent foe but, WE ARE MORE POWERFUL. YOU are more powerful ! Sure, it is a big bad addiction but, not stronger than our will or our intent. Nicotine addiction shrivels when we commit to NOPE. Quitting smoking is a wonderful journey of self discovery. Denial and deception are seen in a clear light and truth takes precedence. Truly, it is an extraordinary experience when one's self-confidence solidifies and you get to know a New YOU. Lilly. Thank you for your apology and I apologize if I upset you in any way. I did feel bad and worried that I might have messed up someones quit. I try and weigh my words, I try to be careful. You are one hour before FOUR days. This is incredible ! You must celebrate every damn moment of your precious quit ! The truth about Nicotine is never pretty and I am sorry if I brought you down, I only want to lift you up. As I see it, one of the greatest benefits of quitting smoking was the acceptance of the truth. This continues to serve me, truth has no judgement...it is only truth.

With the change of seasons, the sun going to visit those like Jo, under the equator, the light and lack of it is a real factor in our moods in the Northern Hemisphere. This is a real thing. Light your lamp, Every day point your hands and face towards the sun, even if it is cloudy. The UV's will find you and cheer you. Also, Vitamin D3. Stand your ground, you are a fabulous nicotine free woman.

Congratulations wren18. Do not worry about random craves or errant thoughts about smoking. It takes a long time for the addiction to fall asleep, that is just the nature of it. You must reward yourself for your fine 9 months and hold tight to NOPE. Then there will be no worry, no worry at all. Any ol crave that bothers you will get stomped on pretty damn quick.

Congratulations Roryplog. Nine months of freedom is a wonderful accomplishment. Be sure to reward yourself.
