  2. That would have been luv at first sight (or bite) for me, Boo, was it for you ?
  3. You won't have many insane craves like this one but, don't let them catch you off guard. Get a plan together when they hit. I did jumping jacks and primal screaming. Hot showers. Walking around the block at breakneck speed. They are emotionally draining. Do something really, really nice for yourself this evening. Rewards are so important especially after tough craves. You are winning. You quit smoking. You are stronger than any damn crave.
  4. Sorry you are having a tough day, Lilly. Stay focused, you are building a strong quit and we are behind you all the way. Some days are just BAD, even in real life. Soon, you won't have smoking or nicotine ruling your thoughts and the sooner you can switch them up the better. I know I waited far too long in purposefully replacing smokey thoughts with thoughts of beauty. Addiction really sucks but, the recovery doesn't last forever, even though it seems like it at the time. I promise, soon you will feel clean and clear and more confident and powerful than you can even imagine. I promise.
  5. and just to alert you to more joys nicotine addiction has given us Quitting Smoking Blues Reci is SO right on, You are on an adventure of self-discovery. Don't forget to provide some Joy for yourself ! You are in the sludge right now but, won't be here long at all.
  6. Hi D, Congratulations on being in your fourth day of Freedom. Your inner time clock will adjust and you may be feeling fuzzy (not necessarily in a warm and fuzzy way, lol) Here are some anecdotes on The Great Smoke Free Mental Fog
  7. Congratulations ! You already have most of the nicotine out of your body and will find the power to crush your craves and triggers ! Expect some discomfort and learn new skills to handle them. Be kind to yourself. Reward yourself with every crave you beat. Drink water. Use Jillars Air Cigarette or a stick of cinnamon. Drink juice, keep your blood sugar up. Do anything but bring nicotine back into your life. You are winning and we are all so proud of you. S
  8. Since I am on 'ignore' maybe someone else will hip Redemp to this information, The Harmful Effects of Nicotine and the The Cancer Risks of Nicotine Gum
  9. RIP Dick Dale
  10. Quote taken from The Oral Cancer Foundation's article, Cancer Risk of Nicotine Gum and Lozenges "Scientists have discovered a link between mouth cancer and exposure to nicotine, which may indicate that using oral nicotine replacement therapies for long periods could contribute to a raised risk of the disease. A study funded by the Medical Research Council, led by Muy-Teck Teh, of Queen Mary, University of London, has found that the effects of a genetic mutation that is common in mouth cancer can be worsened by nicotine in the levels that are typically found in smoking cessation products"
  11. Quote taken from The Harmful Effects of Nicotine "Nicotine poses several health hazards. There is an increased risk of cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal disorders. There is decreased immune response and it also poses ill impacts on the reproductive health. It affects the cell proliferation, oxidative stress, apoptosis, DNA mutation by various mechanisms which leads to cancer. It also affects the tumor proliferation and metastasis and causes resistance to chemo and radio therapeutic agents."
  12. @Lilly Sorry for the skirmish on your thread. Thinking of you and hoping you are doing good and gaining power. You will win.
  13. The enemy is our addiction to nicotine.
  14. You repeatedly promote nicotine gum, not as a tool to help you quit nicotine but, as a lifestyle. This is sad and unhelpful to people honestly dealing with nicotine addiction. There is no wrong way to quit smoking and quit nicotine.
  15. Make NO mistake ! Your cravings WILL be there for the rest of your life until you deal with your nicotine addiction. You obey your addiction and perpetuate your slavery. For you to be a proponent of maintaining nicotine addiction is abhorrent and the antithesis of what QTrain is all about.
  16. I have a jar of vegemite and a jar of marmite. I slather at will ! i was so sad when the quacks took your vegemite away from you.

  19. lol, I bet you are OK with the yeast in your beer !
  20. Try nutritional yeast on your popcorn, it has a parmesean-y sort of flavor and is salty. Super packed with B vits.
  21. What happy news, Parsley !
  22. Congratulations, Dutchess on your Two Years of Freedom. What a wonderful accomplishment.
  23. Congratulations, Kdad on your Six Months of Freedom ! Be prepared for errant, random triggers and craves as you go through your first successful year. You are winning.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
