  9. Hey, @Vivianne, You are doing everything right. Understand that some days are good days some aren't. This is life. You quit smoking, smoking is no longer an option. Ever. Reward yourself for conquering this gnarly day. Something v. nice. and @abbynormal ! You stay strong and focused, girl, too ! both of you may need to look at this, Red Flags and see how ridiculous romancing smokes are, it is just the addicts voice...pay NO mind and protect your quits !

  11. Perhaps 'containing' frustrations isn't the way to go. Take a good look at your frustrations, a severely honest examination. How can they, one at a time, be ameliorated ? Finding new ways to deal with problems is the new challenge and also a way to resolve these issues previously hidden behind a veil of smoke. This is the journey of our lives.

  13. Your quit is young, sunshine. Please protect it from any interference. You must keep your quit separate from circumstances in your life. Have a look at Cristóbal's Your Quit & Your Life--The Proper Sequence

  18. I think about you a bunch, @Stewietech and I am so glad you surfaced. You still have many friends here, I am one of them. I am so happy you are still smoke free, especially after going through your troubles. You have built a strong and sturdy quit, baby ! That is awesome. Hope you stick around and call us all 'lads' again, my friend. Love, S
  19. Thanks alot, @johnny5, Apparently, Roberto was in on Playing for Change at the beginning. I am so glad. Haven't seen Grandpa Elliot out for too long a time...worrisome but, he may surface in the Spring for Jazz Fest.

  21. OMG ! My friend, Roberto Luti is in this ! @ 1:11. He used to play on the streets here with other friends of mine. How nice to see him and hear him playing so well. Lovely. I guess I will have to go to Livorno, Italy to meet up with him again or, maybe not, he is a gypsy and could show up at any time in any place. Also Simone Luti shows up playing bass, a relation ? Nice bass. Hope he gets some dosh and some work out of this video, he's really good.
  22. I used to think exactly so, forestgreen. I was an aggressive smoker, smoking where and when as often as possible. I didn't hide it, I flaunted it. In the early days of vaping nicotine before any regulation, I would supplement my dry tobacco with a vape and I took extra delight in getting my fix in places like Whole Foods or organic groceries. I was an idiot, yes. I was an addict. It was only after understanding the tenants of addiction that I was able to admit my folly. I wasn't a rebel at all. I was a slave to Big Tobacco That was a stunning realization for me and helped to power my quit Here is a page of resources from our friend, Joel Spitzer concerning weight. About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
