  1. I could barely even make myself read the title of this thread. Still, somehow I felt... obligated.
  2. The incredible hulk in my pants.
  3. You were probably that annoying impatient kid who kept ruining Christmas. Anyway, happy three years pig. Please don't show me your underwear.
  4. I think that's an integral part of truly quitting that is too often missed. Good for you for seeing that.
  5. It'll go back and forth for a while, that's just the nature of the battle - hey if it was easy, everybody would do it! But you already got through hell week, and even though occasional craves will continue to snipe at you, and you might even feel like you go backwards a few times, on the whole you can expect things to get consistently better from here on out.
  6. Yes, because sausage-having is definitely a great way to derail the previous meme... Happy Friday!!! :)
  7. Chrispy bakon. That's hot.
  8. out standing !!!
  9. You bet it feels overwhelming! But it won't last, as long as you keep faith. I'm fond of pointing out that you don't actually have to *do* anything here, just *not* do something, so whelm to your heart's content! Scream, cry, bathe, chat, sleep, it's all good. And keep talking to us. This board exists to respond and encourage, and every single one of us either is or was exactly where you are now. You picked a good name. Do what it says. :)
  10. Pardon my direct -you need to stop thinking like that. This is fully in your control, you don't "hope" about things like that, you decide them. And you, my dear friend, have already made this decision. N.O.P.E. Now, you "hope" it won't suck. Too bad, it already does, you can't control that. On the upside you're right in the worst of it, tomorrow will probably be a lot better. But then even later it will suck again, and you will only be the boss of you. One last thing - there's a lot more at stake here than just 4 days.
  11. I was the same way with my creative endeavours, and probably figured that association was permanent. It's not, it's all part of the illusion, you'll probably write a poem about it some day. Earlier you asked for benefits, so here's a few of mine: stamina way up, coughing gone, I don't see stars when I stand up too fast, I sleep so much better and deeper, I'm much more relaxed overall, I smell both great and well... I'll think of some more later. Welcome and way to go! ps protip - go to bed early!

    Match.qt

This saucy duck is only good for the goose. Bakon and me have made a provisional arrangement, though I don't think he really understands it fully.

I think most do. But, no offense intended (and I know this won't make me popular here), not every cop is a good cop. And some folks get to see more of that than others. That said, this is a horrible tragedy.

"Earth's first big predatory monster was a weird water bug as big as Tom Cruise, newly found fossils show." That's a truly great lede, and made me laugh. The rest is here, and is a normal article: http://www.torontosun.com/2015/09/01/giant-sea-scorpion-first-real-big-predator-study
  17. Sorry I missed this, was on a road trip myself, but one month is a massive deal. Belated congrats!
  18. Happy two things!
  19. Outstanding Leanna, congratulations!
  20. Two years, amazing! Nicely done.
  21. Weak is fine. You don't have to fight it, you know. You don't have to do anything. You just have to not do something - and you won't, not this time. Go ahead, be weak as a kitten, soft as a baby, lay on the floor and meow and cry if you want to, none of it matters. Just don't smoke. Imagine, for a moment, that it wasn't a monkey but a bear! (I just got back from camping, so bears are on the brain). If you were being mauled by a monster grizzly, you wouldn't define "success" by whether you beat up the bear or not, you'd be happy just to make it out alive. Roll in a ball, play dead, whatever it took wouldn't matter, just so it leaves you alone. And so it is.

    Elton John

You're a butterfly! And butterflies were made to fly, fly away. High away, bye bye. oooh eee oooh eee oooh Elton F-ing John
  23. Sorry to hear about the tribulations, but that there is pretty great, I think.
  24. I'm not so sure. I remember a sensation I used to think of as "lung hunger", and it felt like my wanting circuits had been rewired so that I actually like the sensation of cramming smoke into my chest, and maybe there was something to that. All I can tell you is that it went away, and pretty quick, and was replaced by a profound revulsion at the thought of hurting myself like that. Three days is not a very long time in the scheme of a quit, though it feels like it. Push through, and you'll see what I mean soon enough!
  25. Yeah, unfortunately you will have to jones a little in the beginning, and from time to time. Just keep going and don't look back, you'll probably start to notice things improving pretty quickly.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
