  13. Hi cookie, very sorry for your loss but good for you making the best decision you'll ever make. I think you're heading into day 3 now, and it can be a beast sometimes - make sure to have fruit juices and snacks around as your blood sugar can get a bit wonky and make you crave, and be gentle with yourself. Read and post as much as you can, it really helps. Welcome to the board.
  14. Congratulations Joe, hope you're enjoying your achievement and your weekend in style.
  15. Yep, one month is a huge deal. Proud of you Pancake.

  17. Well maybe yeah*, but I don't plan on living that long. I'll just congratulate you on four years and owe you the rest. *editied because I don't actually doubt you for a second.
  18. This was great to read. Not just because of how well you're doing, but it reminded me that I love that too. Thx cakes!
  19. Has it really been a year already? It barely seems like a week. Way to go Johnny, welcome to the club.

I think you guys are missing the point.
  23. Last year I was out for a bike ride in the winter rain, which is more fun than it sounds, when I rode past the hospital, and noticed a person slumped over in a scooter, not moving. I rolled up thinking maybe she was dead, or at least unconscious, and asked if she was ok. She was awake, but so weak that she couldn't really lift her head off her chest, much less do what she really wanted to do, which was light her cigarette. So I fished her lighter out of her pocket and lit the damp cigarette that she had dangling from her lips. I can't really describe how I felt as I pedalled away.
  24. Saw this sign yesterday, thought it was pretty funny for an official municipal pronouncement.
  25. It took me a lot longer to get to where you are now, but no matter how long it takes, it's great when you realize you're forgetting to remember.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
