  2. Glad to have you with us, sounds like a great start to a sticky quit. Boo's right, I think - my own quit was mostly unplanned and just sorta happened, and I'll be hitting 4 years next month. Keep reading, learning, posting and NOPEing and you'll do this.
  3. It's all true. Marti, you're magnificent, and you have a way of saying what needs to be said that occasionally makes me envious. Congratulations on two years, and thanks for helping make this place great. There is no greater honour.

    Test Patterns

Posting pictures is a bit tricky. Ping us when you get there, there's more than a few who will happily help.
  13. Good to hear Glenn! Remember, you don't really have to "fight" - you don't have to do anything. You only have to NOT smoke, and you win. You are done with cigarettes. For good. NOPE.
  14. That's great KL! You're at the point in your quit when you'll start to feel like this more and more. But if tomorrow you find yourself a little down, don't despair, this isn't a straight linear progression. Overall, from here on, you will have more good days and fewer bad ones, until eventually you realize you just don't have any bad ones anymore. But it will probably be a bit bumpy for a while yet. The point is you are healing, and you are winning, and your body and mind are thanking you. Enjoy your great day!
  15. Well, I hear your cilia are having a party in your lungs.
  16. Most of the time, people just disappear. I appreciate that you told us, and seem to take responsibilty for the choice you made. Still, what a shame. Pointless, awful crying shame. I hope you make it back. Like, later today maybe?
  17. Exactly right. Great to have you with us, let us know how you're doing, say whatever's on your mind, and help us help each other - it's all good, and it all helps.
  18. Glad to have you aboard, Chris, and congratulations on your decision. I'm looking forward to getting to know you. Oh yeah, the thing to remember about kicking train tires is: don't. I am editing this because I just realized this was my 666th post, and I am taking the opportunity to embrace evil and revel in my own bad self.
  19. I dunno about the last one. Porn kinda markets itself.
  20. A nation mourns.
  21. Was there ever another less deserving of a poem than the junkie lizard brain? There's a world of difference between knowing and understanding. You knew cigarettes were deadly and addictive, but now you understand. And now you choose.
  22. THANK YOU!!! This has literally kept me awake at night.
  23. I lol'd. It seems the attitude adjustment is underway. I agree with everything you wrote, except the part about nic gum. Don't do it. It might be "better" than a puff, but it might also lead to one. You're quit, and that's it.
  24. I'm also saddened and sorry for Doreen and her husband. But when I see replies like I can do this, above me, I'm thankful for her strength in posting this, because I know how much it will help people, even if most of them never tell us. I can do this - you're doing amazingly! Whatever you're facing, face it down, and let your resolve grow even stronger.
  25. You can lose your keys, you can lose your mind, but a quit you throw away. You're only a month quit - fresh outta hell, and still back on weekends. You'll be thinking about it for a while yet, I guarantee it, but if you keep going, the day will come when you won't. Smoke now, and you'll spend every day after that thinking about not smoking, and how much you wish you'd stayed quit. It's your choice.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
