  1. Not a one. Even if I knew for sure it was my last day on Earth, I would not smoke. Quitting opened my eyes to what I was missing as a smoker. My lifestyle has changed completely and smoking would endanger that. On top of it all, there is nothing a cigarette can do for me, no enjoyment whatsoever.

  3. Amy, In the beginning it is common for us to confuse a crave and a thought. Craves don't usually last beyond 5 minutes. How about exercise? For many of us, we were not very active, but exercise turned into a new habit. For me, I couldn't sit still and starting riding my bike. It helped a lot, plus once you are active it seems completely ridiculous to smoke. Whenever you feel the slightest bit of a struggle, come to the board to read or post. It can make a huge difference. By the way, I think you are doing really well with your quit. Anytime the Nico-monster tries to mess with you, visualize the image below. That dragon is the Nico-monster and you are the toddler kicking it's butt...er stuffing.

  12. Glad you are back at it. Ask yourself though, what will you do differently this time? I realize you had an unexpected situation pop up. If something similar happened again, what would you do to keep your quit? It's important to be proactive, figure out what your triggers are and develop a plan should they give you trouble. Keep us updated Juan, we all want to see you succeed.
  13. Having extra money in your pocket is definitely a good thing!

  19. I could live with that and some nice bread to dip in the sauce. There is always the meatball sandwich...
  20. Last night, we had B.L.T's. I, of course, just had a B.L., I don't like raw tomatoes. Tonight, St. Louis style ribs charred on the grill, then slow cooked in the oven for a few hours, corn on the cob and something else, I am not sure yet.
  21. Yes, yes teenage boys are stinky, especially when they pretend to take a shower. lol I can tell by scent alone across the room, if my son has washed his hair or not. :o As unpleasant as that might seem, I am glad for it!
  22. Around 2004, I started getting sinus infections out of nowhere. As time went on, they increased in frequency and duration. Sometimes I had to be on antibiotics long term to get rid of it. I almost always had a sinus infection. It was a miserable way to live. Fast forward to 2013, I saw an ENT. Last April, I had a septoplasty, turbinectomy, concha bullosa re-section and sinus surgery on my ethmoid and maxillary sinus cavities. While I could breathe better and the sinus infections weren't as bad, I still got them. The doctor told me smoking was probably the culprit. Yeah right, I thought. A couple months later, I quit during a sinus infection. I have had one sinus infection since then, just one. Coincidence? I think not :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
