  2. Welcome :)
  3. Have you tried anything for exercise? I must sound like a broken record, but it really does take the edge off.

  15. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer 15 years ago, he was a heavy smoker. Before then, I had associated smoking with lung cancer or smoker's cough. Around the same time my mom, was found to have an aortic aneurysm, a heavy smoker herself. My grandmother was diagnosed with COPD a few years ago, even though she hadn't smoked for many years. I was diagnosed with COPD at 37, it is no longer an elderly person's disease. I am willing to bet that there are a lot more diseases and conditions out there caused by smoking.
  16. Positive thinking is what it's all about. At first, I made myself think positively and it wasn't long before it became natural. After a while, I didn't have to think about thinking positively, I just did automatically. Once this started to happen, my quit stopped being difficult and I started to actually enjoy it.
  17. Glad to hear it Amy! Keep us updated!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
