  8. definitely addict thinking....but something is stopping you from listening to that thought...something brings you back here. That something is....that you want to stay quit MORE than you want to smoke. That's it in a nutshell. You. Will. Not. Smoke. This is just a test...a last ditch effort for that SOB addict brain to try to get a hold on you. The more energy you give to these random thoughts...the stronger they become. Instead...change the self talk. Make YOUR resolve stronger...turn it around. "I am on the fence..." follow up with "that's ridiculous! I am a non smoker...there is no fence"--then brush it away like nonsense....repeat this over and over. It's not going to work the first time because you have already given that damn addict brain your attention. You need to turn it around now. It takes time, but soon you will believe your own thoughts...not the addict thoughts. Social situations....you must have some non-smoking friends in the mix..no?? I still have smoking friends..but also non smoking friends....and family..2 family members and 1 friend of mine quit after me because they said I inspired them..that is what will happen in your life too. Don't think they aren't watching you...because they are. They are secretly watching you and inspired by you...show them how great it feels to be smoke free. You are free Gabby....they are not. They are in prison, looking out..wishing they didn't smoke. Show them that it's wonderful to be out of that hell hole.
  9. excellent thread and responses...I am loving the vibe on the Quit Train! cpk....bakon nicknamed me babbles a long time ago because I "babbled on and on" on a post of his. Sometimes when I feel very passionately about a subject...I do tend to go on about it...Ive been pretty good lately. Thanks for the compliment. :) and Karl is right...you can absolutely do it!! woo hoo!
  10. I say face it head on. Staying away from the smokers is more harmful to you than to sit there with them because it's causing a separation and isolation. You have to trust that you won't smoke. I think you are underestimating yourself and causing unnecessary frustration and sadness. Be with them. Sit with them. Enjoy their company. There's the joy...not the act of smoking You won't smoke.
  11. Oh yes....yes, you can. Whatever it takes. That is why we are here
  12. False...not yet..but I will the minute I get back from Florida! TPBM has been to San Francisco

now how do you know the woman with the nice shoes didn't waste so much time picking out her footwear that she neglected to wash the cooter?? Maybe it's like "Oh, I have a dirty cooter...let me get nice shoes so nobody will know" flip flops rule
  16. lol...you are BAD!! hahahaha
  17. You need to be here every day, my friend. Last few posts have been a bit shakey...from your holiday away ("I almost smoked") to your recent post in the curse it thread...I am very concerned about you. Let's give her the reasons she does not want to smoke please...reminders please I'll start You will hate yourself. The cigarette you are romancing is a lie...it doesn't exist. Not for you, not for any of us. The only cigarette we enjoyed (or so we thought) was the ones where we hadn't smoked for a while...and we thought they were enjoyable when really...we were only relieving withdrawal symptoms. You are not in withdrawal...therefore..any thoughts you had about it..are all illusions. Those people you are looking at who are "enjoying" smoking....well, they HAVE to smoke. They don't "GET" to smoke. You don't have to...you are free!!!! Protect that quit with everything you have. I was shaky still after 10 months...but that was my last shaky episode....hang in there Gabby!!!! who's next?

so much chatter about unwashed cooters by the flip flop wearing women......but never do I see anyone pointing the obvious fact...that men need to keep their stuff clean too...or else they end up with that offensive DUCK BUTTER situation going on....if you don't know what that is...google it.....chances are...at one point in your life or another...you have come across it. Is it just the flip flop wearing men?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
