welcome back Christine! Let's do this for the last time! Always helped me to remember I didn't have another quit in me...I was going to do it....NO MATTER WHAT because there is no craving in the world that makes me feel worse than being a slave to the cigarette. Welcome Imfree!! You both got this!

A drop in your blood sugar level can trigger off some rather unpleasant withdrawals symptoms. This is because while you are smoking the nicotine that your body gets plays a vital role in the release of stored sugars and fats that your body needs for energy, while also inhibiting the natural use of insulin. However, once you stop smoking, your body would need to start controlling these aspects on its own. . Eating plenty of fruit and drinking plenty of fruit juice is a good way to keep your blood sugar levels in check.

So what all keeps you from lighting up again?
babs609 replied to JB 883's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
the same thing that stops me from putting my mouth over my tailpipe and inhaling......because that's pretty much what we used to do.... That craving for a smoke really is awful and the freedom from it is still exciting to me when I am in a situation where I couldn't smoke if I wanted to....and thank GOD I don't want to. Life is awesome as a non smoker! -
thanks for sharing! I really miss his creative posts and our chats....he was a very unique man

Stay close to the board Sunny....critical time for you. Something inside you still believes in the cigarette...which is a dangerous mindset. You are not missing ANYTHING by being a non smoker...you have everything to gain. Keep close and keep talking about it...read, educate yourself. Download an app on your phone that does hypnosis for smoking...I did that every night....quitting smoking was all I thought about. I ate, drank, slept, and lived all about quitting smoking in the first few days, weeks, and sometimes...months. We are here for you!

Looking at the clock waiting for 5:00 because I am off for the next 3 days

Jillar....I assure you..the post had nothing to do with animosity. Many, many people have gone off and tried to start their own forum and failed, but The Quit Train succeeded. I was not implying anything else but that. Also...that's a saying in reference to a marriage or relationship..."it will never last"...I was just being silly. Glad you are here. I Changed the title so that there is no misunderstanding.

Started out as hypothetical....a few discussions...and the drive and determination of our Fearless Leader...my friend for life ?...Marylandquitter. March 30, 2014 the Quit Train was born! Since that time....this place has been magical and truly has been running on it's own ever since. Little to no moderation was ever really needed. Run by the dedicated members here...who are just paying it forward for the help they received in the fight for their lives. Great bonds are formed here. Long after they quit they keep coming back here...their "go to" place. Playing games and being silly and having fun. The beauty of that...is that they are here...round the clock...ready, willing, and able to get serious and help when the need arises. It's a beautiful thing! SO I would like to salute you all...and congratulate you on a job VERY well done.. As always....thank you MQ HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY QUIT TRAIN!!? Who wants cake?

I might have overlooked something...but I don't see an introductory thread. I am sure if you posted one...you would have gotten a lot of warm welcomes.
