  4. Hi! you should be able to put messages on profiles by selecting Profile Feed located beneath photo in profile. If the person chose the setting to allow messages. :) We haven't really used it much but I like the idea.

Hi, Babs. Thanks. I had responded back to you on the thread. I'm glad this option is available here. I will utilize it often.

  6. one month...on to 2!! Congrats!
  7. See what I mean Jess?? Your relapse was in earlier this month and now we are near the end of August?? See how time flies? I know you've been doing some reading and I am really hoping you have set a date. We are here...waiting for you Come on babe......I know you want it...you want it bad. The question is....do you want it MORE...than you want to smoke?? :D
  8. Today I love.....that my stress level is pretty much at it's maximum and still a cigarette is the furthest thing on mind. So very happy about that.
  9. I never took the bandaid off slowly....that's torture. That's how I felt about quitting. My opinion.....I wanted to disassociate myself from anything to do with inhaling anything. I was never a fan of replacing...some people sucked on straws.......not a fan of that either. I think it sends the subconscious a message to keep that habit strong. I wanted to detach from that....not try to mimic it. But still and all...I don't have a problem with using a vape to quit.....to each his own but if you are going to use it to quit...then you have to set a quit date for the vapes too......so like sarge says....why quit twice?? 3 things i want to address in this post. 1. Yes..we all do have "escapes" but I prefer to call them "tools". To me..vaping is not a tool. To me...a tool is something inside of you. Deep breathing, exercise, taking a walk, meditation, prayer, sing, chant.... Something you learn and practice and can take it anywhere. You don't need an outside "thing" to help you....you always have it available to you 24/7. I think that's important because stuff comes up and life happens and what if that does happen and you don't have your vape with you and you are extremely stressed? That's where the tools I mentioned come in quite handy. So if you do those....then why do you need the vape, again, exactly? 2. The Original Poster of this Post did, in fact, relapse a month later (he quit promptly after that successfully so far) not sure if it's related to the fact that he was vaping and went to the pub and friends were smoking and he smoked...........hmmmm 3. Spammers suck....they come here to advertise their vaping websites and clearly they are not in it to help people...their companies encourage vaping period......and they make a lot of money doing it..makes me sick. Incidentally...I believe the poster at the top of this page is a spammer....he included a link to a vaping website....which I deleted. Preying on people who are here trying to save their lives.....just so they can make a few dollars. Disgusting if you ask me. I would never contribute a dime to a company like that. end of rant
  10. oh no no way no how NOPE!!
  11. Today I love............ the way quitting smoking has empowered me.... beyond my wildest imagination...and has trickled over to every aspect of my life.
  12. Today I love that I "only" ran 1 mile today. What I really love is that I called it "only 1 mile". Being able to breathe helps so much. :)

  14. Going with the flow doesn’t mean we don’t know where we’re going; rather we are open to other ways of getting there. The expression going with the flow is a metaphor that applies to navigating a river. When we go with the flow, we follow the current of the river rather than push against it. People who go with the flow may be interpreted as lazy or passive, but to truly go with the flow requires awareness, presence, and the ability to blend one’s own energy with the prevailing energy. Going with the flow doesn’t mean we toss our oars into the water and kick back in the boat, hoping for the best. Going with the flow means we let go of our individual agenda and notice the play of energy all around us. We tap into that energy and flow with it, which gets us going where we need to go a whole lot faster than resistance will. Going with the flow doesn’t mean that we don’t know where we’re going; it means that we are open to multiple ways of getting there. We are also open to changing our destination, clinging more to the essence of our goal than to the particulars. We acknowledge that letting go and modifying our plans is part of the process. Going with the flow means that we are aware of an energy that is larger than our small selves and we are open to working with it, not against it. Many of us are afraid of going with the flow because we don’t trust that we will get where we want to go if we do. This causes us to cling to plans that aren’t working, stick to routes that are obstructed, and obsess over relationships that aren’t fulfilling. When you find yourself stuck in these kinds of patterns, do yourself a favor and open to the flow of what is rather than resisting it. Trust that the big river of your life has a plan for you and let it carry you onward. Throw overboard those things that are weighing you down. Be open to revising your maps. Take a deep breath and move into the current. from the daily om http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2015/49377.html

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
