  4. Lisa! Love it! You are such an inspiration and living proof that anyone can not only quit smoking...but go one step further for a complete lifestyle makeover. In fact, adding exercise and healthy eating makes the quit easier. Bravo girl!!

  9. this was a great post rachael I truly believe in affirmations.....my favorite in regards to smoking that I repeated over and over was............ smoking is not an option actually what I really said to myself was--"smoking is not an option, so get over it"

  14. Welcome iamdoingit!! Fantastic! I did exactly the same thing at 3 months. You learned from it...and here you are! So happy you found this place, and Amy too. :)
  15. I think it comes down to still believing that the cigarette does something for you There are people who have quit for years and still suffer because they believe the lies the addiction tells them. Then, there are those who quit for days only and they don't miss a thing. All comes down to exposing the lies. Good post. :)
  16. Love it!! Welcome to the board iamdoimgit!!
  17. Welcome MHK!!! Congrats on your decision to quit smoking. Have a look around and let us know if you need help. :)
  18. Evelyn..you are so sweet Thank you :)
  19. Biggest benefit for me: freedom from slavery of nicotine addiction. Small benefit: I just noticed this morning when I switched purses. It was the first time I didn't have to take it outside and dump all the loose tobacco out of it. :). Even almost 2 years later the benefits still come....no matter how big or small.
  20. Welcome Amy! You've come to a great place. We are here to support you every step of the way. You are going to love your freedom! Happy you have joined us. :)
  21. Yum!! Thank you Evelyn! Calorie free too!
  22. While we are here worrying about Tiffany....girlfriend was partying it up in New Orleans! Lol. She really appreciates the shout out and will be here tonight.
  23. hugs trish!
  24. soozie...my husband smokes too. From the beginning I just looked at his smoking as very sad. I just would repeat over and over that he HAS to smoke. I no longer did. I was free...and he was (and still is) shackled. When I quit 21 months ago...he was supposed to join me, but didn't. When I tell him how many cigarettes I have avoided since then...he cringes. (I try not to rub it in too much ;) ) When he smoked outside..at the beginning of my quit...I joined him. I watched him smoke. I mean, I really watched. Putting the cigarette to his lips, lighting it, taking a drag.....god, he looked stupid. I never want to be there again.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
