As a smoker I was kind of borderline gambling addict. I would use the casino as an outlet for my frustrations....at the time I had a lot of frustrations. I would even take a take off of work very frequently to go secretly gambling....I live only 20 min away from a casino...too convenient. As soon as I saw the building I would get excited...and all my problems would disappear the second I walked in the door until the moment I left. I would smoke an entire pack of smokes and if I ran out while I was there...I would buy a pack for the insane price of 12 bucks! It's been 21 months since I stepped foot in a casino.....at first it was because I thought it would trigger me and I wasn't ready to face it now I just don't go because its disgustingly smokey in there......they have smoking sections...which are a joke...right next to the non smoking section. what's that gonna do??? Besides...i don't need to replace one addiction for another and in retrospect....I can see it as a potential problem for me. I'm an addict.

soozie! :( You smoked because you still believe in the cigarette you smoked because you wanted to--more than your desire to quit I'm with Bandito here....you must decide if you are going to be a smoker....or not. This business of quitting and going back when the hubby is around is starting to become a pattern and only forces you through the quitting process all over again...each and every time... You want to be a non smoker? Make the commitment to yourself..and to your quit...and don't stick things in your mouth and light them on fire....ever Life is so much more enjoyable as a non smoker. People and circumstances are so much more enjoyable....even the smokers. My husband smokes...i enjoy his company...I just choose not to smoke because it does NOTHING for me...nothing. Commit to NOPE now and forever soozie! You know it's all a part of that "get healthy" plan you had....healthy mind, healthy body, healthy spirit..I know that's important to you. How important is it? here is your pre-response to your SOS...make 20 copies and distribute all over the house love ya,,,,,you buffoon!! Back on the quit train you go! The only way to break free from the chains of addiction is to stop doing it....and learn from your relapse. If you don't learn the lesson in it.....then the pattern will continue and you will never be free.

Jengirl!!! For your 1 year anny, you are eating!! I'll bring the banana pudding...(If ya don't like banana pudding I can also bring something else....I'll end up eating the whole thing myself anyway...which is why i haven't had any in 10 years...I can't be trusted with it) :( I miss it -
I wasn't scared. Knew you wouldn't smoke. I posted 2 SOS's. both times I already knew smoking wasn't an option but the threat was too close for comfort...I felt I was obsessing too much and I needed to get rid of it and gain strength from the responses i received. It worked!

I didn't see one excuse in your post and for that I'm proud of you. You owned it. You have the right mindset. You can do this and learn from this relapse. :)

Amy...once you remove all the lies....once you truly believe that smoking does nothing for you...the process of quitting becomes extremely doable. I did get "restless" at times...but I knew that it would do absolutely nothing for me. You've been brainwashed. Allen Carr helped undo all that. Never quit quitting!

I am cracking up!!! You all are hysterical. Lol Way to face down a trigger Sarah!! High five!

Quitting smoking is easy. Staying smoke free is a challenge sometimes. You are still learning how to deal with life without that trusty "friend" we relied on for so long. Guess what? What you are doing today is strength training. Will only make you stronger sister!! You won't smoke. You are a non smoker Let me say congrats to you in advance for getting thru this day. :)

I was in a fog for 2 weeks. It won't kill you...as its temporary. It's all the thousands of chemicals leaving your body. Toxic! More proof how awful and disgusting that nasty addiction is. Doing great Sarah. Keep at it and keep your eye on the prize....freedom! :)
