  4. It's all part of the 'process" Gabby. That's why it's good to safely vent here.......and keep in mind all things associated with quitting are temporary...but the benefits last forever!! You are doing fantastic!

  19. 20 years ago I went to this dentist who when reading my questionnaire, and he questioned why I checked off purple gums....I said "because they are. See?" He chuckled and said "Some people have pigments that are darker and many times those from the Mediterranean have a purplish tint to their gums, nothing to worry about". So....for the next 20 years I believed I just had purple gums. I was nearly full blooded German and nowhere near the Mediterranean but ok. Well.......the other day...I was flossing and taking a good look at my gums....I couldn't believe it; THEY ARE PINK!!! Nice and pink just like a normal person. Not only pink but healthy looking and tight against my teeth. In 1 month...I will be 2 years smober...and the benefits keep popping up. I no longer see that dentist.
  20. good post Beacon!
  21. I use tools daily.....it's what is learned in many support groups. In the past.....my toolbox only had cigarettes, a lighter, some food, alcohol, sleep...and even self pity at one point..gone are those days. Learn to use good tools and fill your toolbox with them, so that when it's time...you know how to use them and do so automatically. Great post Colleen..and great tips Marti!!
  22. Good morning everyone! no smoking for me!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
