  1. don't let the train leave without me!! NOPE! I'm on it!
  2. welcome to day 3 Bernadette!! I remember feeling so tired in the beginning...and also just wanted to sleep my withdraw away. Glad you are keeping busy too. Great job....nicotine is almost completely out of your system!! It's all mental strategies from here
  3. If I go 8 hours without caffeine...I get a headache...I am addicted. Now that you said "off both" I am holding you to that Jules...no going backwards now! :)
  4. Holly...in 1 hour it will be 24 hours since your last smoke...you are already a non smoker.... the nicodemon is dying and trying to trick you...you are smarter than that
  5. Holly....whether you smoke or don't smoke....this craving will pass but if you were to smoke...you would be doomed for a lifetime of craves...every 20 min Not one puff and it loses it's power you got this
  6. way to go Kenzie!! You've got this!!
  7. You've got this Bernadette! No matter what the next 24 hours holds....as long as you don't take a single puff....you are that much closer to ridding your body of nicotine and you will never have to go through these first few days again! I don't have an answer about the BP meds but I can only imagine quitting smoking will help reduce your blood pressure. Definitely your pulse rate. Remember to drink lots of water to flush your system and also include some juices like cranberry or orange juice as quitting smoking sometimes lowers blood sugar. Well done!!
  8. Welcome Bernadette! and HUGE congratulation on the beset decision you could ever make for your health and happiness! KUDOS!!
  9. Not trying to bust your chops Jules...but from my experience and being around other quitters who have successfully quit...I have to say..there is GOLD in the struggle. When I say that I mean...people who quit cold turkey also have tough moments and feel the need to "take the edge off". So..they have to rewire their brains to do healthy alternatives. Deep breaths, water, go for a walk, call a friend...meditate...listen to music. Dance, run...the list goes on If during your early days of your quit all you turn to is vaping...then you are setting yourself up for trouble If you are also adapting while vaping and incorporating healthy alternatives into your lifestyle..then you have a great chance of success. People who NEVER smoked have stress...they too get edgy and restless at times because it's a part of life...and they cope with it...without smoking..vaping..puffing...and THAT is our ultimate goal. Regardless of how you get there Do wish you the best in success!

-6 chicks and sticks have been busy!
  11. but still...my question is simply WHY?
  12. Sigh My son...who didn't smoke at all...actually started his smoking addiction just by vaping "zero" nicotine. He is now a pack a day smoker. :(
  13. In answer to your question Jules....you are probably right....the 10,000 other chemicals in cigarettes are all designed to make the addiction more gripping, no doubt. My question for you is this....why are you on a vaping forum? Please answer that question honestly
  14. bottom line is....they may go hours, they may go days, they may even go weeks...but rest assured...they are addicted. Vaping is dangerous....every bit as much as cigarettes...and based on the puff of cloud of smoke I see from people who are vaping...I am betting they are even more lethal. Our lungs were not designed to smoke...puff...or vape..period!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
