-10 where's the guys? Sarah lured them somewhere!
  2. Yes!! I'm so excited someone is willing to do it! You can absolutely adjust accordying to travel...but it looks like every 3 days is rest day so as you get further in the month, you probably will want to stick to it as close as possible. Let's do this chickie!
  3. great job Sarge!! Oh believe me...I know about the kitchen...lost 65 lbs as a result. I only have 10 lbs to reach my goal, so obviously my weight loss isn't as dramatic anymore and i'm losing weight at a rate of 1 lb every 2 weeks...but that's ok I had 3 kids and when I was heavy, my stomach was the biggest part...I was shaped like an apple.. Now that it's "deflated" i'm left with a little leftover skin and whatnot..not horrible..but could be better the planks, and situps and leg lifts go a long way in helping out in that area...the toned muscles help the loose skin not appear so... loose...even if it is just an illusion
  4. ok peeps!! Summer will be here before you know it! Also..for me I have a Florida trip planned and I leave in 40 days! Perfect time to start an ab challenge. I exercise 5 days a week and also run..but still..the abs could always use more..lol. Sooooo...... Who wants to do it? I am starting 3/7. It will be fun..we can post here about our journey and support one another. http://workout-essentials.com/30-day-ab-challenge/ The Exercises The exercises are set in a way that they become harder and harder as the month progresses. Therefore, do not overdo them on a specific day at the expense of the subsequent one. As the muscles get used to the previous day’s workout, another difficult one is waiting the following day. The intensity of the exercises increases gradually and progressively. For this reason, do not expect the results after the first day’s work out. The four different exercises that the 30 day ab challenge makes use of include sit ups, crunches, leg raises, and planks. The sit ups increase with a margin of five from the first to the last day, excluding the resting days. The rest also vary significantly, although with an increasing trend from the first day to the last one. The 30 day ab challenge is a good way of keeping fit and healthy without spending a lot of money and time.

    -6 Humbled...you don't have a chance without your goombas
  6. well keep reading cpk, because this is a very inspiring thread :) when I was actively smoking...I was afraid to exercise. I always had a headache whenever I did any cardio...I was probably a jumping jack away from a stroke. But since I quit...not one headache. Not one!
  7. Welcome Teary Eyed Woman!! Congrats to you on 4 months...that is fantastic!!! You sound like you are on a great path of growth, spiritual development and well-being...and we are thrilled to have you on the quit train :)
  8. I am so looking forward to Spring...and as much as I complain about winter and wishing I lived in a more Babs friendly climate..I love Spring Fever! It's a feeling that those who live in milder climates don't experience. Seeing colors come to life, the birds singing a lovely tune at 6:00 am, the sound of lawnmowers, the smell of rain and fresh cut grass.....oh , i could go on and on!!! With this change of seasons, for many...comes triggers! Many of you are are facing Spring for the first time as a non smoker and you may experience some restlessness in response to these milestones. For example, even though you are enjoying breathing in fresh air as you sit out in your yard on a nice sunny spring day...your addict will remember you sitting outside with a cigarette...associating the feeling of peace and tranquility with the cigarette, rather than just the feeling of being there...enjoying the moment. That being said....let's focus on what you are looking forward to this Spring as a non-smoker.... Even though this July will be 3 years since I quit...I am still looking forward to going on a hike. I love hiking but as a smoker I would have to stop every 100 feet and breathe...and of course...after I would catch my breath..I would smoke. The first year I quit smoking..it was easier. Last year, easier yet! I can't wait to see how far I can go this year!! I also look forward to keeping up with my 2.5 year old granddaughter on the playground and not be out of breath. What are you looking forward to....as a non smoker in the next few months??

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
