  1. Congratulations on making a great decision! We are all here for you. You can do it!
  2. Does anyone know the origin of The Dark Room? The Dark Room helped me a lot early in my quit. I read it dozens of times. I think it would be great to have it here for anyone who might need it but I certainly do not want to steal it from the other board. But if it originated someplace else lets get it here. Anyone know?

  7. Last night I watched someone on my Facebook support group throw away her quit. I know her junkie thinking was just making excuses but she claimed she was going to smoke because of all the people with year long quits saying they still crave cigarettes. She said how can I put myself through this torture knowing I will still be miserable in a year or even longer? I told her I was pretty miserable for the first couple months, but not any more. I tried to explain to her the difference between the craves we feel in the first few months and the fleeting thoughts we have after the first few months. She did not believe me I guess :( I want to say THANK YOU to all the long time quitters before me who told me it would get easier! I am so glad I believed you. Actually if all smokers would stop and REALLY think about it. Would people really stay quit for years if they were still miserable? I don't think so. If I am miserable now it has NOTHING to do with not smoking!

  18. I like to DVR shows and wait to watch them when I have accumulated a bunch of episodes. I hate waiting from week to week with the cliffhangers. I do have to be careful not to watch any commercials because they can spoil things but I do not watch a lot of live tv. This past week with March Madness going on I did see a few commercials that spoiled some stuff luckily I don't watch too many CBS shows. This week I have been watching The Blacklist. Wow I am so glad I let these pile up in the box. This show is so good! Well I have 2 more left to watch the suspense might kill me if I don't go watch now!
  19. Please tell me you read The Hunger Games. The book was so much better than the movie. Catching Fire(2nd movie) was really good, much better than the first movie but still the books are the best. So much important stuff left out of the movies.

So the rest of us are SOL?
  21. Oh shutting up that junkie is so tricky. I think it would be helpful to go back to the beginning and READ,READ,READ, and READ some more. For me education is what helped me ignore the junkie in my head. You can do it Evelyn!
  22. Looking good ladies! This is the only picture in my computer that would work in the forum, all the others are too big :(
  23. Good morning everyone. Its almost Friday!!! So glad to see you Babs.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
